Overall, our stay at Fort Pontchartrain was great. Pros include: I found a great price for the stay. The staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. Queen bed was comfortable. Coffee machine and refrigerator in suite. Starbucks self serve machine in lobby was a nice touch- for a small price. Safe in the hotel for any precious belongings I must say there was a few cons for the actual hotel building itself; however most issues which were fixed by the amazing staff: including Alvin and I believe her name was Linda from the front desk. Cons include: First room, the pullout couch had dog hair in it; thankfully it was immediately switched to another room. It did make me wonder if they clean the pull out though. The pullout couch was not comfortable. The toilet had an issue but was immediately fixed and dealt with! The hotel keys are very sensitive- I had to go down and get them replaced once, almost twice a day. It’s a quick fix but a little annoying. Not related to the hotel but did add to the cons- valet parking only. Not a good price. Thanks again for the great customer service!

Eugene took great care of us in the Valet. Top notch service from him and is hands down better than most valets in the area! Views are excellent! Our first night was on the 15th floor and the room was not incredibly clean. We had some loud neighbors that kept us up late. The next morning the staff quickly fixed the situation and put us in a very nice, clean room with better views! Great service.

I’d like to say that you to the entire Fort Pontchartrain staff for my experience inside of the hotel today. How ever I would like to personally thank Craig the amazing bar tender inside of the Urban cellars restaurant. I had an awful time with traveling as well as losing a very close relative and Craig went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and comfortable. He opened conversation and allowed me to express in a way I didn’t know I needed. The customer service was top notch. My drinks were perfect and everyone was very well groomed and polite. Thank you Craig and for your encouragement and all of the other staff as well.

Great location, great views. Staff was very helpful, especially Jamil with Valet service. Beds were firm but surprisingly comfortable. Blankets were thin and no glassware/ ice buckets or even a trash can. Few little amenities missing but nothing major. Room key cards would intermittently stop working, front desk reprogrammed. Motion light inside the room was not deal as would go on and off when not wanted. Maintenance was very helpful with a clogged toilet. Overall good value for the price. Little short of 5 stars. Would definitely stay again.

This experience was quite atrocious. Before we checked in, we came to the front desk and we were rudely greeted by two very rude guest check in people. We then went up to our room and discovered that the toilet would not flush. The shower would fill with water and had weird white particular matter in it. The next day we decided to go eat in the breakfast that was supposed to be included in our stay, and we were served raw bacon. Furthermore, later in the day, when we were resting in our room, we could hear Housekeepers coming down the hall so when they approached our door, we told him we did not need cleaning we could then hear them complaining about us in The adjoining room. Furthermore, later, in the day, we decided we were going to leave the hotel. After all the terrible experiences we had had, and we come to find out the valet who is supposed to be present at the cars at all time is across the road getting juice, so we leave when we go to a better hotel down the road called the antheum. The next day I call management from the hotel and it was a pleasant chat. She seemed very nice very kind and courteous and told me she would keep me in the loop. All I was requesting is the one night refund for the night that we left and did not stay there. She said that we would be hearing back within a couple of days. I waited one week nothing I called again. She said she would send me an email. I heard nothing I called again. She said personally attached to this email chain. That way you can stay updated still nothing, finally today they gave me 2900 points to spend at this hotels brand chain which is not even enough for a free night. I would not stay at this hotel again if it was the last hotel I would sooner sleep in my car in the worst parking garage in Detroit.
