Four Points by Sheraton Philadelphia Northeast

My friend and I stayed here after seeing a concert downtown for Halloween. We had a day to explore Philly and went to an exhibit down the street from the hotel. This property is close to many things to do and plenty of dining options as well! The hotel was nice. I loved the rooms. The Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom was a great addition to the hotel room! I would recommend this property.

I recently stayed here with my mother as she had medical appointments in Philadelphia and we are from out of town. My mom uses a walker and has mobility issues, so we had requested a handicap accessible room (first floor would have been nice but not required, just wanted wide doors, etc. and room for her rolator) but were told none were available. We arrived late at night and were able to check in (we let them know we’d be late) which was nice. However, when we got to our room and unpacked, there was a blood stain on the floor! There were several strange pink stains all over the carpet throughout the room, but right under the desk there was a dark red blood stain with dribbles that someone had clearly tried to scrub up as the carpet fibers were messed up. Since it was late and we were tired after a long drive and had already unpacked, I decided to wait until the next day to mention it. As we got in late and restaurant in the hotel was closed, I left my mom alone to go quickly grab dinner down the street. While I was waiting for my food, my mom calls me in a panic and says the fire alarm is going off and she is unable to reach the front desk so she can’t even determine if it’s a real emergency or if something else triggered it. Due to her walker she is unable to take the stairs down from the third floor and would have trouble even making it to the elevator on her own. Since they wouldn’t answer my calls to the front desk either, I had to leave the restaurant and go all the way back, and found the lobby full of guests and the smell of smoke coming from the elevator. Eventually we were all told that we can go back to our rooms safely but that at least one of the elevators will remain off. It would have been nice if one of the staff members could have at least answered the phone to tell me this information so I could have let my mom know and gotten my dinner. Not the worst of all the problems we had, but the toilet was also running almost the entire time we were there which kept us up all night until they could have someone come fix it, and it started running again not too long after that anyway. When I told the front desk about the blood upon checkout she did not seem that worried about it and didn’t apologize. She did write it down on her notepad so hopefully that means it will be cleaned before the next guest. We will be traveling to the area several more times over the next few months to visit doctors but will definitely be finding somewhere else to stay.
