I do recommend this hotel, good value for money, nice personnel, ample breakfast buffet, big rooms (we hand a deluxe room) and a gym. In plus: + Very helpful and courteous staff. + Ample breakfast buffet, good food. + spacious rooms (we had a deluxe room - it had app. 35 m2) + Clean. + Gym: quite big and pretty well equipped for a hotel gym. - Good value for the money. + 30 minutes walk from the main attractions (app. 2 km), but hence the lower price than the of hotels right in the city center. + I was so happy we didn’t book a hotel in the old town – it is so loud in the old town and it’s jammed, difficult to get out and even to walk because all sidewalks are full of parked motorbikes, tables, chairs and other sh*** that is just standing on the sidewalks. In minus: - please buy a yoga mat for the gym - the temperature at the swimming pool --> why is it so COLD in the area of the swimming pool?! OMG you could not even enter the space without freezing and getting blown away by a huge cold draft.. In the gym room adjacent to the swimming pool the temperature was normal. I'd understand if it was colder in the gym than at the area of the swimming pool - but the other way round? very peculiar. Luckily we used the gym and not the swimming pool - I would not there to enter the swimming pool area without wearing a wet suit 😉 At the end, I want to stress that I really do not understand, where all recent negative reviews come from - I understand that there was a group of people and a lot of them expressed this way their unhappiness.

My first visit to the Grand Vista Hotel was during an event organized by my company on the 21st floor of the building. Positioned strategically just a few kilometers away from the Old Quarter and West Lake, with Giang Vo Lake right behind the hotel, it provides a convenient resting place for travelers. Looking at it from the outside, Grand Vista stands proudly, adjacent to a spacious yet undeveloped plot of land. From the top floor, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding city, especially enchanting at night. The hotel staff is friendly and eager to guide and assist guests. The restaurant, while not serving exceptionally unique dishes, meets the basic needs of guests. The room rates are reasonable, reflecting the location and services provided by the hotel.

Do not recommend. It was 10 degrees outside with no heat in the room. I asked twice to turn on the heat, the second time they told me “maybe broken”, but no one ever came to the room to fix it. I had to sleep in my pants and sweater it was so cold, and I woke up with a sore throat. The shower also leaked water all over the bathroom, as others have reported. I had to use several towels to make a "dam" to contain the water on the floor. Upon checkout they said hotel has heat, but could not explain why the heat could not be fixed. Kept on talking about "checking the system" while several employees were starting at me. I left very frustrated. Management nowhere to be seen, nothing offered to be even though I was rented a defective room. NOT FIVE STAR.

HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE IN GRAND VISTA HOTEL, HANOI. We were a group of 14 Indians, about to check out from the hotel to leave for the day's tour. The bell boys came to our rooms to collect the luggage, and when asked to wait for a few minutes, their straightforward response was that we'll have to carry our luggage ourselves. While returning the keys at the reception, a duplicate key of one of the rooms went missing, and they charged heavily for it. Not only did they just charge for the duplicate key, but carried a poor, demeaning behaviour and created a huge chaos out of the situation. We couldn't expect the experience to be worse when we found ham(pork) in our sandwiches(packed breakfast provided by the hotel). Being pure vegetarians, it was clearly conveyed via our tour guide that the food must be vegan, and yet such a blunder was created. Such a disrespectful act not only hurt our sentiments but was a violation of our religion. Such carelessness is not acceptable and should definitely not be overlooked. The hotel staff is uncooperative and insensitive. AVOID THE HOTEL AT ALL COSTS.

The hotel is absolutely avoidable as the staff and management has no idea of hospitality. The staff is RUDE with extremely poor communication skills. I say so because they could not follow instruction given even after it was communicated to them on local language. The management need to invest significantly in staff training on basics of hospitality. The food is bad for vegans / vegetarians. We were given sandwich with HAM / PORK when we asked for veg sandwich. Absolutely NO NO hotels for Indians and people who are vegetarians. Also avoidable for people who don’t eat PORK.
