Very old and outdated. The location is great, but the hotel looks like it hasn’t been touched since the 80’s, especially the rooms. Some examples are the bathroom sink yellow and peeling, the bidet has gone brown, the onsen area had mould and mildew all around it, furniture is chipping and peeling. Everything needs a refresh. I’m sure the hotel looked very grand originally. On a positive, the grounds are well kept, the staff were lovely, and the food was good.

We have funny ( a bit on the ridiculous side) memories in this hotel. There was no shower option except getting all the way naked in the common bath. Room was comfortable, surrounding area is pretty. Food was ok. We stayed in 2018 for 1 night, it costed 20,020.

20230707 - the location is convenient, just about 10min walk from the ropeway station. The facility and service worth the price. So if you’re looking for a fairly reasonable accommodation, relaxing and has hot springs, this may be a good option. Just a reminder - there’s no restaurant or shop around this hotel so you have better finish your dinner before you come to check-in. Otherwise, the only option is to dine in the hotel. Another choice is to buy some foods somewhere else and bring the stuff here. The hotel offers microwave machine for self operation. Anyway, this is a quiet and relaxing hotel but no other recreation nearby. As for the breakfast, it’s the same thing. I’d strongly recommend you pick up the plan with breakfast included if you’re a person who do breakfast every day. Their breakfast buffet worth the price. If the weather is nice, you could have the breakfast at the terrace. That’s lovely.

Nice relaxing stay, well enjoyed and would stay again. Location - conveniently close to the boat and ropeway station, and there's a bus stop right out front. However, it's a ways away from Gora or Hakone Yumoto station so you'll need to bring (or deliver) your luggage. There's also not much around the hotel but the property has vending machines and a gift shop. Food - accommodates vegetarians! Such a blessing to have this option, the dinner entree was a soy meat patty and the sashimi was konnyaku. They even had a meat-free miso soup prepared! Breakfast is buffet style. Onsen - both indoor and outdoor baths available, as well as a sauna room. Open in the mornings and evenings, and midday for non-guests. Amenities provided. Property - nice and quiet, with some yard space and a parking lot. They have some children's books and outdoor activities (eg badminton) prepared. Overall a nice and relaxing stay!

free towels !!! instant +1 also the hot springs are really good, i recommend checking them out. the hot chocolate is top tier also (it's free) location is a bit far away and it's really spooky trying to get back to the hotel after the sun sets but you can see the hotel lights in the darkness which is comforting overall i think hygiene could be better - i saw a spider in my room and there were leaves on the mattress aswell but otherwise the staff were delightful ps: they use tatami
