You can't beat this Hampton Inn! Every time I am in NYC, I stay here. They are always great but when I was there this past week, they were EXCEPTIONAL! Sinsir at the front desk was beyond helpful and friendly. I had some issues with my room before check-in (long story) and although he couldn't do anything for me, was very understanding and kind. Laura L., also at the front desk, was just as helpful and kind. She assisted with printing and was just super friendly (in the good way). Thank you to the entire staff that worked last week when I was there with my family! I (and we) will be back soon!

I can't express enough how amazing the staff are here. I traveled for work - needed government rate, tax exempt, and using a company card without my name on it... a lot of hoops to jump through for a hotel - and staff were attentive, patient, and so incredibly helpful months before my stay. Once I arrived staff did not disappoint, every single staff person from front desk, maintenance, to those lovely staff in housing that kept my room impeccably clean for the 4 days I was there were fantastic, and always meeting every guest with a smile. The front desk crew were awesome in helping me feel comfortable navigating the city via subway - didn't get lost once! Speaking of subway - the 34 herald square subway entrance was steps away from the hotel entrance and made it so easy to get uptown and downtown. Hotel is walking distance from Herald Square and Macy's - and my Empire State Building view king room had a great unobstructed view of ESB, and the lights were so incredible to see change each night. Room was good size, bed was comfortable, water great in the shower nice and hot and great water pressure. Good counter space for working surfaces, and fridge worked great once the temp turned down. No complaints - great stay.

This place is in rough shape. The rooms are extremely small and are desperately in need of an update. The elevators are also a huge pain. I must have spend an hour during my trip waiting for elevators. However, the staff is excellent and try hard to make your stay pleasant.

We are honors members so we know what’s good . This hotel is wonderful. First off the staff Damien, Sinsir and Anthony were unbelievable. We were so impressed with these young people and how they went out of their way . The room was spotless, the breakfast was A+ and every worker was amazing ..I recommend this hotel highly . It’s about the people and not just the great locale ! Yes to Hampton Inn Empire State bldg.

Very polite and helpful staff coping with what is basically a hostel masquerading as a hotel. Rooms are clean but really basic provision of furniture and woefully inadequate storage. Heating and lighting very poor. Kids party plates and bowls at breakfast, plastic cutlery that is next to useless and no proper cups or glasses anywhere. Yes, the room has iron and ironing board but these take up valuable space in the minuscule wardrobe. The 2 lifts are very slow and totally inadequate. Reception lobby is way too small. Hilton should hang their heads in shame that this place carries their name
