HARRIS Resort Batam Waterfront

First of all, the weather is good in Batam today so my husband and I and my sister are excited to explore Harris resort in Waterfront for the first time. We normally stay at other resorts in Nongsa or Harbour Bay for our weekend getaway. Just checked in to Harris 5 minutes ago and we did ask whether we could get any free upgrade since today is our anniversary. The receptionist, Sri, she kindly said she needed to contact the manager, Monica. After 10 minutes later, Sri told us that Monica didn't give us the upgrade. I asked whether they're fully booked and that's not the case. They are willing to offer 50 percent discount for suite room. We do not mind to pay as this is our first experience with Ascott group. However, the staff attitude are not pleasant and welcoming. We booked for 2 rooms and at 3 pm we are still waiting for for the second room to be available. FYI, they are not fully booked as the receptionist mentioned earlier. Thankfully, the seaview is amazing and not sure about the food and amenities. Fingers crossed 🤞 Day 2 and we just checked out. Let us review some good stuffs first that we experienced. My husband enjoyed his ATV ride as the track was awesome compared to other ATV's place that he tried. While waiting for him to finish the ride, we're waiting at the hotel bar nearby. The servers were friendly and attentive. We ordered some snacks and drinks. It took about 35 minutes for gado gado, fish fritters, and banana fritters with ice cream and cheese to arrive. At least they tasted ok. We went to Harris Cafe for dinner time. We ordered plenty of dishes from Indonesian to Western, soto ayam, fried rice, ayam kremes, sop buntut, and porter house steak. Again it took about 40 minutes for the food to arrive While there's no one dining in at that time. The staffs here again were friendly and attentive which is good. The taste of the food was upsetting honestly. My husband ordered truffle fries for the steak after 40 minutes they brought just the normal fries and they gave us the truffle fries later on. For the Indonesian food like soto, sop, fried rice, they are quite bland to my hotel standard with that kind of price range. The porter steak came out dry although the meat looks like from imported source. For the hotel which claims itself to be 4 star in Batam and can't even serve proper one of Indonesian signature dishes like basic fried rice, I think it's quite overrated. Also, the table linen that I used was torn with few holes. After dinner we went to the game room as they have a pool table, table football and darts. We couldn't play darts as the server told us the arrows were broken earlier by some kids. We played pool, it was fun despite the cues provided were not properly maintained and some were broken as well. Thankfully you can play those games for free. We ordered some cocktails at the bar which was the same bar that we went in the afternoon. Cocktails were good and the server/bartender Razi was friendly and he could make proper margarita and long Island. My husband wanted to order some apple pies with vanilla and strawberry ice cream as they only...cont'd on next post under my hubby's as Google limits character for post.

Been to Harris Resort numerous time. The pioneer rooms have been upgraded and we are lucky enough to get those rooms. The staffs are very polite from the front desk, to the kitchen staffs and the outdoor activities staffs. Special mention to the staff NIATMAN, who has been generously giving us recommendations on transport and eating place. Last but not least, Harris Resort Waterfront has always been a pleasure to stay for families.
