I stayed at HC6 Boutique Hotel for two nights. There are both positives and negatives to my stay. I'll start with the positives. 1) It is in an incredible location. I don't think it can get much better because it is located in the heart of the classiest part of the Old Town. You are surrounded by amazing cafe's, restaurants, and shops. 2) Also, it is reasonably priced compared to the other options. Marbella hotels tend to be higher than those in the rest of Spain - particularly during the high season (summer months). HC6 was roughly $260/ night, which is less than half of most of the others I was considering. 3) The room was very spacious. 4) The customer service was good. Maria was in regular communication with us via Whatsapp and always helped in whichever way she could - at all hours of the day and night. So, we really appreciated that. With regards to the negatives, 1) The room could have been cleaner. The cleaning lady just makes the bed and tidies up - but does not actually clean. I shared this with Maria and even sent pictures, but nothing changed. 2) There is no room service, lobby, reception, or in-room dining. 3) The decor of the hotel was strange and could use improvement. 4) The coffee machine malfunctioned multiple times while we were there and needed replacement. 5) It is not wheelchair accessible. 6) There is no elevator. 7) There is no on-site breakfast or parking. Considering these negatives, I would treat it more like an Airbnb. If that works for your travel plans, I would recommend staying here because it is basic + great location. If you need something more, I would consider other options in the Old Town.

Just don’t stay here. Why? Because when you arrive you may be taken to another poorer quality hotel. You will be appalled by the quality of the room at the other hotel. You will be promised a refund which you will not receive and need to find and pay for a new hotel. Well that’s what happened to us. We arrived at HC6 at 4pm on Friday 13th October 2023. Yes that date! The door was locked and no one around. We called a number on the front door. A lady answered and said she would be 5 mins. Not great but fair enough. When she did arrive she told us our room was round the corner. Alarm bells started to ring at that. We have stayed in a remote room once before so gave her the benefit of the doubt. We were taken to a different nearby but 1 star hotel. After much stair climbing with heavy bags in the other hotel we were shown a very poor quality room with a prison thickness mattress . We finally realised we had simply been conned. The room was booked via hotels.com 2 months before. HC6 had double booked us and rather than being truthful this was their proposed solution. The whole thing was a fiasco. The hotel said they had cancelled the booking at 5pm and showed us a screen shot of the cancelation. We set off to find an alternative ourselves. We got no help whatsoever from Hotels.com. Fortunately there was one room left at the Laciudadela hotel which turned out to be excellent As I said. Do not even think of booking HC6. I will also be very wary of using hotels.com in future as it provides no assistance THIS IS A POST SCRIPT TO THE REVIEW. As at 24th October the HC6 Hotel then refused our refund even after showing us a screen shot of the refund on the13th. We will be taking the matter further but YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

The location in the old town of Marbella was perfect, with a free public parking about 5 minutes away for greater convenience, and a variety of cafes to enjoy a delicious breakfast in the beautiful streets of the town. The very careful decoration, quality amenities and a very comfortable bed, together with the attention received upon our arrival, made us feel at home as soon as we entered. We will definitely repeat!
