Hilton Garden Inn Austin NW - Arboretum

Worst Hilton garden inn ever. Room is not clean, bed sheets had bad smell . Breakfast cost $14 the food is cheap motel style. Yikes, disappointed with Hilton!

First, I want say that this is a beautiful hotel, clean rooms, nice breakfast, no road noise and pet friendly.There is one big problem, her name is Dory, the front desk clerk. After the second night of our three night stay, late that evening my child took our pet out to relieve herself. Dory stared at my child the entire time. It made my child so uneasy that she felt the need to speak to her. When she did, Dory rudely asked if our pet was registered. My child told her yes, she then asked what room. While looking at the screen, that wasn’t enough, she wanted the name on the registration. My child told her my mom and gave my name. Dory exclaimed we had paid and my child was allowed to go to the room. I called down and ask for her name and she began to explain and I told her that wasn’t necessary and told her good night. Then a charge was added to my card of 50.00. I understand that there was a charge for my pet, but I had called the hotel months before to add my pet and Dory had told my child that we had already paid. The next night my child took our pet out again and on the way back in Dory stopped her again and told her to sign a form. Without knowing what it was for my child told Dory that she would have to ask her mom to sign since I was responsible for the room. Dory insisted she sign. My child ask why no one else had a problem with the dog. Dory said she could speak to a manager so my child asked for a manager and was told none was available. My child ask was their cameras and told Dory at this point she felt racially profiled. Dory responded in anger by stating that she was not racist and proceeded to help the next customer who looked of middle eastern descent. Dory said to the man I know you are a foreigner (he is American) so l will show you that l am nice and let you have your snack for free. When my child ask the man would he be a witness before he could answer Dory yelled at my child and told her not speak to him. My child turned back to him, Dory yelled to my child you are out of here and that she was calling security. When she ask why, Dory said it was because of my child’s behavior and that my dog was barking. (because of the raised voices) My child returned to the room. Dory had turned off our keys. I then contacted corporate. Dory had put in the notes that I had rudely refused to sign a pet registration and she had to charged me.When Dory was contacted by corporate, she said what she had noted and that she didn’t turn off our keys or threaten to have us removed. She stated to corporate that she was not going to argue with me and that she had work to do and hung up the phone. Corporate said the manager had 24 hours to contact me. She/he didn’t! Corporate refunded my money and fees. I suggest POC’s be aware of Dory if they stay at this property.
