Away from the usual sukhumvit Rd areas, easy to get to local quoter night life. Good area. Local shops.

The hotel is not bad, considering Thai standards, however the cleanliness was sloppy, the breakfast expensive (paid on site) and of poor quality (croissants at least 3 days old, hard as stone). The rooms are nice, some with a decent view of the city, the bathroom with obvious traces of mold everywhere, hair residues from previous guests and unpleasant smells coming from the drain pipes... The carpet throughout the hotel is smelly and full of staines! The worst thing, however, was the reception at the reception: we had a problem with one of the 5 rooms that we had booked and paid in advance, the receptionists (surly and not very understanding) did not try to help us in any way, other than speaking English incomprehensible and not understanding almost anything of what we were saying (in English!!!). Even if the mistake wasn't their fault, we had no help and were treated truly horribly, as if we were thieves and not customers! Needless to say, in 2 days we NEVER received even half a smile and were not given the opportunity to speak to a manager. Indeed, we were kept (we are a family of 11) in the reception for two hours on two consecutive days, trying to understand what the problem was. I have other details to tell and names to name but I will gloss over them. I'll just say that we had two days in Bangkok and we wasted more time arguing with these incompetents than visiting the city! They were not able to call us a taxi, recommend anything to do in the city or provide the minimum basic assistance expected from a hotel of this kind (which is also an international chain). P.s. Upon our return we then discovered that the mistake was theirs, so our travel agency is taking action to refund the room that they made us pay for on the spot, in cash because they didn't accept credit cards (unbelievable stuff).
