Brilliant staff! I've been here twice and both times different bar staff/receptionist - very welcoming! Rooms on both visits I'd rate as excellent. Well done Newport Holiday Inn

Top notch hotel, very clean room and nice breakfast. Staff were first class. Only downside was the bar was a bit on the expensive side. Would definitely recommend.

So overall it is a really nice hotel. First thing you are greeted with is a warm welcome and a smile. Check in was simply and no queue. Parking is controlled by a screen logging system (easy). I was on 3rd floor at the end of the corridor so I headed of to the lift. The lift was a bit scruffy around the floor but not too distracting. The floor was bright and well lit and at a perfect temperature. The room was very well presented. Nice fresh smell and everything in its place. Bathroom was slightly smaller than I thought but it had a great two way door that not only opened into the bathroom but also served as a private door to the lavatory. Great space saver. In the bar in the evening there was lots of space and a comfy area to relax. It was rather clinical so I can't say it was cosy but it was certainly was relaxing. The bed comfort was great with fresh linen. One small issue was the dreaded air conditioning. Either too hot or too cold. Breakfast in the morning was basic buffet. Would be nice to have fresh cooked eggs rather than scrambled but a nice selection for a business traveller. Maybe different if it was a family. Check out was seemlees with a smile. Location is a little of the track as there is not much in that area however 7 minutes drive and you have a small town with takeaways and food shopping. Overall price and value, this comes up high on list so a return is likely should I be in Newport again. Service and friendly staff make all the difference.

Very delightful stay. Newport itself is a lovely place and, on top of that, one of the best experiences I've ever had. I was here in mid-June for training purposes and stayed for five nights (I wish I would have stayed longer than that). My room was always kept clean, and I slept very well. Breakfast was really good. It felt very welcoming overall. Thanks for that. Highly recommend. However, the quality of the dinner has to improve just a little, but they were lovely too.

We booked a family room to visit family. Keith was the receptionist what a lovely welcoming person. He could not have been more accommodating. The room was much better than we were expecting, we had previously stayed at a Travel lodge. That had been basic. Here we had enough tea and coffee, enough towels for us all (4). There was a hair dryer and iron and ironing board. A huge TV which the kids loved. All the staff were friendly and happy and were always pleased to help. At breakfast the lady sorry I didn’t take her name was very nice too. Shout out again for Keith. A very happy visit and would stay here again. Very easy to get to. Just outside the town. Thank you.
