It is a big, charming building. The location is perfect, near a lot of restaurants and supermarkets and a walking distance from the main neighbours if you're planning to visit the city. We barely used public transportation. With safe surroundings, we felt comfortable walking around any time of the day (and night). Super well organized regarding the sharing areas like the kitchen, bathrooms and co-work space. Quite good and stable internet connection to work. They have a good shared kitchen with everything you need to cook - although I miss a toaster. While the first bedroom was bigger, I enjoyed the last night in the second bedroom since it was quiet and newer, with better facilities and better illumination. There was some miscommunication because we had two different bookings (I got less one night and it was cheaper to book another night than extend our stay in the original booking) that force us to change rooms. During check-in, they update the system and assured us we didn't need to change the room during our stay but we needed to afterwards. It is ok, but I didn't' love the fact that they forget to tell us upfront and knocked at our door at 11h30 sharp to request the checkout and free the room. The building of the first part of the stay is quite old so you can hear people walking around the entire night. Same for the people that stay in the garden until late - one night, the noise in the garden lasts until 6 am. You can't bring alcohol to the hostel but their options at the bar are not very attractive (regarding of offer and prices).

Great hostel in a nice neighborhood. The prices are fair, their offer a lot of services (laundry, lockers, events…) and the staff is nice. The rooms and the shared bathroom were clean. However, if you want to pay by credit card in CLP, they add a 19% fee so you must pay by cash in USD to avoid it. This issue happened in a previous hotel as well so it might be a regulation in Santiago. Just so you know!

I came to Hostal Providencia after an exhausting 15-hr plane journey, desperately hoping to book a bed to sleep in until I could check into an Airbnb. Unfortunately the hostel was all booked up, but *fortunately* my hero Santiago offered to let me crash in their beanbag-filled chillout space. I was very impressed with this hostel—they've also got a cafe and fitness room! Thank you so much Santi for saving the day, and sorry it took me some time to write the review!

I stayed here probably 4 or 5 times when I was Santiago. I can definitely say this hostal has excellent service and facilities. The vibes overall are great. And because the hostal is huge, if you want peace and quiet it's available. The cleaners do an excellent job and never once did I see the place dirty or feel like it was dirty. For a hostal the standard was kinda unbelievable. Now for me I think the staff make this hostal what it is. They went above and beyond for me and were always happy to conversate. No matter what time it was. Their service and friendliness is why I continued to stay there. I guess one example of quality service I should mention is from when the first time I stayed there and checked out late. t They told me first that they were worried and they went to go check up on me to see if I was in my room and Ok (I wasn't in my room I slept my friend's house that night and woke up late af). They allowed me to take out all my things quickly and told me they were glad I was ok. I told them I was extremely hungover and I needed to sleep more. They took me the living room area where they're couches and beanbags.. Perfect just what I needed. When I woke up and left to go back home to my Aunty's house (1 hour out of STGO) I realised I left my shoes at the hostal. I contacted them straight away. At first they couldn't find them but after 3 days of searching they found my shoes and I got them back. So yeah you cannot go wrong at this Hostal. Enjoy.

(2023-09-01) I was in Santiago transiting from Asunción to Miami. One of my friends recommended me this place and he was not wrong. It is the best hostel have been in. There is everything you need in this establishment, but also around. I really liked the neighbourhood and it is close to bus and metro/subway station. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms, bathrooms, and common areas were very clean. I was watching with Brazilians my team losing in the Copa Libertadores … against a team from Brazil jajaja. I really liked my time, even with the lost lol. There are also private rooms, which I chose. It cost a bit much when converted to Canadian dollars, but that is a normal amount in the country. From the airport, I took the centropuerto bus that stops at Los Heroes. You can reserve online on Recorrido. Then, you go in the subway/metro, on line 1 (Red) and do 5–6 stops to Baquedano. You can walk the rest. I highly recommend this place and if I come back to Chile, I will stay there again. Hoping this time, my team win lol!
