Hotel Bernina 1865

Great place. Love it how it’s also very dog friendly. The breakfast was very, very enjoyable and it’s magical when the sun rises over the mountains and shines right into the beautiful Kaisersaal.

This hotel is really beautiful. It's not far from the train station and there is a bus stop 100 m away. The room (n.211) was really nice. We liked the morning sun, there is a kettle and you can make a coffee or a tea whenever you fancy, the bathroom is spacious with a good bathtub (bubbles, lights, a small mirror). It was good to use it as the spa was closed (end of September). Everything is clean and shiny, as expected. Good lighting (relaxing, not too bright). A small balcony. Nice heavy curtains and nice bed. Breakfast is served in the impressive ballroom. Every detail counts... there is a piece of curtain missing (north-east), the (room) service was wonky...we had to carry the three plates on a tray into the room: it would have been easier to bring the trolley into the room, leave it with us and we would have left the trolley with our empty plates in the corridor after dinner. Someone would have taken it back to the kitchen 1-2hrs later. There were misunderstandings about our coffees in the morning (almond? oat? soy milk? one or two metal teapots (hot metal, not practical)?). The waiters could wait until we finish ordering, ask again if something is not clear, repeat the order to be sure, take your time. There was a tiny fly in the cup. The windows are not very clean (birds passed by). The pink paintings is not straight. Some guests lack manners when it comes to making loud video calls during breakfast or walking with a cigarette in the mouth or between the fingers to cross the magnificent ballroom. It's not the easiest to have to go in the bathtub to open/close the window.
