Nice staff, and great spot to have an escape from the overly touristy noisy streets of Playa de Carmen, so a little hide away at Colibri, great breakfast directly at the beach, and fair rates. Rooms good get some improvement but all was there and working! Happy with the experience at this hotel and would come back.

I would give 5 stars if it the music from the clubs wouldn't be so loud at night. But surprisingly we feel asleep at normal time. The breakfast was great, staff was nice, location is amazing, just a street away from the most touristic street in Playa.

Our review after a 4 day stay at Hotel Colibrí Beach. We wanted a hotel on the beach that was not all inclusive, had free parking, and so we booked here. Garden Room #27 for 11/23-11/27. Check In: It is in the heart of downtown, but we managed to make it ok in our rental car. They had secure parking so we felt good about leaving our rental car there. At reception, the younger man was very helpful, spoke extremely good English and told us how to get to a safe ATM. All the staff we encountered were pleasant and eager to help. Cleanliness/Comfort: The room was very clean (we did a quick bug check…one thing we had issues with in other places in Central America and it passed 100%!). Nice decor, bed and pillows comfy. Loved the balcony/hammock off our room. The garden is lovely especially at night, it looks like a fairy land! Food: Breakfast was great, good menu selection we always got free coffee, toast, fruit and an entree. Service was prompt, and all of it was delicious. Issues: Other reviews complain of the beach/noise, and this is something we can confirm. However these things are out of the hotels control, and didn’t ruin our stay. So thus didn’t bring any stars down in our opinion. -The beach was washing away/sand bags were in place. Only room for the restaurants tables on the beach. However we brought towels and were easily able to walk down to the main public beach about 5 min to the right and enjoy the swimming and sand! -There are 2 loud discos at the other end of the block. But pretty much all of downtown in this area has loud blaring discos on every block, so any hotel in this vicinity you will have this issue. Maybe the cheaper street view rooms might be worse for sound than our garden view was. But since we have a sleep track we play on our phone with that and running the fan we were able to sleep fine not disturbed by the sound. -The only complaint thing that was valid the hotel could do something about was the internet connection wasn’t always the best. It came and went. The Verdict: So overall in our mind the issues were minor, and we loved this place, would definitely return or recommend it to friends! Definitely deserves 5 stars!

This place is gorgeous (the plants), the staff are friendly and helpful, and the food at the restaurant is tasty and affordable. There are 2 issues: 1) noise (an issue in much of Playa) 2) they only give you 1 key! What’s worse is that the key is connected to the air conditioning so if you’re an independent couple that sometimes does separate things, it’s no fun bc someone could be stuck at the hotel room with no air conditioning… If you want to be in the center of the party or can wear ear plugs at night, and if you never leave each other’s side, this place is great.

After a very long day of traveling and our original booking being canceled due to no power, my husband and I were able to make a last minute reservation at Colibrí. We will now be patrons for life, this is a spectacular hotel with beautiful architecture and lovely views. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the connecting beach is gorgeous. They almost have a beach club and breakfast included with your stay and everything was a 10/10. Colibrí Beach Hotel will be our first option every time we come to Playa Del Carmen!! Shoutout to Ignacio and Karen at the lido club.
