Best location right next to Colosseo. The hotel is cozy and family friendly, with a great added perk of authentic Italian breakfast. The only reason I’m giving a 4/5 is the A/C. During our stay, the A/C hasn’t been consistent. Don’t get me wrong, it’s cold enough for the hot summer, which is nice, but the temperature was weird. There was no in-room control so the temperature was controlled by the hotel centrally. The first night, the temperature was ~18 degrees C in the room per our travel thermometer, which was a little too cold for my wife, so we asked if we could have a blanket, as the kids and I were alright with it. The receptionist was obviously surprised by the ask and said we could raise the temperature instead but we said we preferred a blanket as only my wife felt cold. We got the blanket and this was when things got weirder. The following night, the temperature dropped to 14 degrees in the room, but thanks to the blanket we were still comfortable. The third night, the temperature in the room was changing between 14 and 22 degrees in the room but we didn’t bother going downstairs in the middle of the night to fix it. The hotel should definitely check if the control is faulty, unless someone was having fun with the control. Everything else was perfect and the breakfast was tasty with a variety of cornetto, eggs, coffee, juices and yogurt. 5 minutes walk to the Colosseo and 2 minutes to Carrefore express with quite a lot of dining options within a few minutes range.

We were booked into another hotel, which had a leak and so rebooked us into Hotel Celio. It was great, clean, fantastic location, good breakfast. Will definitely consider for my next stay in Rome.

I had an excellent three-night stay at Hotel Celio and would highly recommend it. The location is perfect, the staff is friendly and the hotel is very charming. My room was a bit cold the first night, but once I let the staff know they adjusted the A/C and gave me blankets. Classic Italian breakfast with sweets, fruits, bread, boiled egg and coffee served at the table. Very clean and well maintained hotel and rooms. Highly recommend it!

We stayed during our week in Rome and we were so delighted by the hotel. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean and so ornate, it felt like an experience itself. The spa bath was divine!! The location is incredible, and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. We were surprised to learn there was a minibar in the room, stocked with snacks and drinks that we were happy to pay for due to the convenience. We will stay here again when we come back to Rome. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Very comfy little hotel close to the Coliseum. Well kept public areas and guest rooms, and run by a friendly and attentive staff. Very generous complimentary breakfast in the morning, and big rooftop terrace perfect for reading a book and nursing a beer. Locating is slightly residential and off the path of the tourist hawkers, which means better/cheaper restaurants and less commotion, which was perfect. If I go to Rome again, I will definitely be staying again.
