        Pleasant enough location but no lift and 5 floors. Shortage of plugs in room. No bedside lights or plugs. Swimming pool on roof is small and needs cleaning. Evening meal OK but breakfast somewhat limited. Staff friendly and helpful.

        One of the most deflating places I have stayed at (hotel is listed as high end in Samarkand). Service is horrible, there is no communication and when there is one, they give you the wrong information. One example- i wanted to have a beer on a sweltering afternoon, my receptionist told me I can go to the roof top bar and have one (4th floor walk up, pool is not cleaned and there. Is no shade). When i got up, there was no bar so I came back down and then she told me you can buy it down here and someone will bring it up. I paid the waiter for the beer and he said he will be up momentarily with the beer. I clinbed abck up and the waiter comes up 30 mins later and says - sorry the beer is finished. As far as the hotel is concerned- faux kitschy furnishings make it an unpleasant stay and the bathrooms need a redo ASAP.

        This is definitely not a four star hotel. The bed was hard as concrete, terrible shower, horrible breakfast with stale bread and warm yogurt. No lift so you have to carry luggage up the stairs. The room was a good size and very clean.

        Should be called "INFERIOR"! 4 floors but no elevator! An employee with grey hair and moustache will jump on you to carry your luggage and insist to get a bribe : don't give him any coin! Single rooms cost amazing 85 US$!!! Ridiculous pool on the top 4th floor. Totally overpriced for such a little room with little shower. And on the table the direction menace to fine you with big amounts in case you break a glass for instance! What an unfriendly welcome! On top of that, staff are arrogant and unfriendly. It is a pity because the house itself is beautiful with great decoration. But this is not enough for a supposed 4 stars hotel, what a joke! I'd not give more than 2!
