Ibis Friedrichshafen Airport Messe is the worst hotel I've ever had. They unilaterally canceled a just few days before my arrival without proper explanation and changed the hotel to another one. I was told the situation only after I called and asked. Its COO says it won't run for just one day because I'm the only guest staying there that day. I made a reservation a few weeks ago, and all guests on other dates are being booked. Is this racist or a way of bullying? I can't believe they made that decision. I made a reservation because of its location, but it's a very unpleasant experience to have to move to another hotel with heavy luggage late at night with long waiting time for taxi(no uber here). I don't want to use ibis again in my life.

The room was fine... But the shower gel wasn't refilled, the one in the shower was empty and the one near the sink was almost 3/4 empty. I had to go in and out a bunch of times to get the gel, which was a slip and fall hazard. Also the bathroom doors had no locks. Also, when we checked in the lady in the reception told us that we could check-out at 7 pm despite our actual check-out time was 12 pm, as we had checked-in late (around 8 pm, actual 3 pm a day before) but the next day Morning, the day shift guy told us that we have to check out at 12 pm, there for we had to check out at about 9 am.

Extremely functional great reception and all staff helpful. I arrived early and they had a room for me which was a relief. Price was a little hefty but it was during the air show so understandable. Breakfast on the whole good. The hot selection did look a little dry so I avoided it. The choice of breads and hams etc very good.
