The Hotel Rio is situated right in the heart of Milan, 3 minutes by foot from the dome and the city center. The building is rather small and not too obvious in the street. As with many city center hotels, rooms are small and the building does not have much extra space apart from the breakfast room. The price/value ratio is very good: While the hotel does not offer any luxury, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is solid and the staff is doing a proper job. My two points of critique: 1.) The breakfast room is too small for the hotel. In the morning it is very busy and people use every available seat to get their breakfast. 2.) The only power socket in the hotel room that I could use was the one in the bathroom - a problem if you need to charge both your laptop and smart phone, not to speak of using a hair dryer at the same time. In total: A convenient hotel, very well located and at a reasonable price. If you do not expect luxury, you get a very good bargain.

Perfect location, nice hotel. The hotel is an enviable location, 100m from the Duomo and right in the city centre. Easy to get to thanks to the metro, trams and buses. The rooms look a bit outdated, but they are spacious, clean and offer a good comfort. For the price, the hotel is a great choice to enjoy the city.

Do not expect North American standards for hotel room sizes or beds - if you don't, everything else is perfection. The bed, while tiny, was comfortable (and I loved the pillows). There was a fridge and a safe in the room, and a great shower with wonderful water pressure. The breakfasts were divine - fresh pineapple, croissants filled with nutella, eggs (scrambled or boiled), cereal, yogurt, toast, cake, and on and on. And you can't beat the location: you are a block away from the Duomo and the metro. It's perfect. But, above all else, I loved the staff - they were so kind and efficient and helpful. I would stay here again in a heart-beat.

We went for a day and decided to stay in Milan, given the rain 🌧️☔ we run to the closet hotel we could find online that still had availability. We thought the room was 117, but ended up bein 170. A bit pricey for what we wanted or needed, but we had a great relaxing night and enjoyed a nice breakfast in the hotel. The service was exceptional from the male receptionist in charge who checked us in around 9pm on a Saturday night.
