Older style hotel, with a newer wing extension. Many rooms overlook the beach and across Lapad Bay. The reception staff are helpful and efficient. The rooms are clean with everything working. Usual breakfast options served in a large indoor/ outdoor dining area which also overlooks the beach. Hotel Vis was a good base for exploring Dubrovnik, bus to the old town leaves outside the hotel.

We stayed at a superior room with sea view. It was awesome, we loved it. From the reviews we thought It would be an old hotel but the hotel is perfect. The room is big enough and the view is the best part of this hotel. It has direct access to the beach. You can go to old town by bus. The stop is just some steps outside the hotel. We had breakfast and food is OK, good variety. The only thing that I didn’t like from the restaurant is that in the dinner they sell the water… one bottle of water (0.75 l) is 6.90 euros..! They have the water dispenser locked for dinner, I understand that some people likes to buy water from bottle but I have never seen an hotel where they do business from potable water and lock the drinkable water.

Great location, right on the beach with a fabulous view over the bay. Large reception area and very pleasant, helpful welcome on arrival. Lots of local information available, with the number 4 bus stop for the old city just over the road with a very regular service on an excellent, modern bus for €2 each way. Our room was very comfortable, serviced daily, with fabulously efficient aircon. This is not a super-smart hotel, but it's comfortable, great value, clean, and has great access to the pebbly beach and local resort. There is a wonderful terrace overlooking the beach, beautiful for relaxing in the shade. The sea is clear and shallow enough near the shore for children to enjoy paddling. The beach bar serves coffee, lunch and drinks on another terrace, again just above the beach. There's no pool, but with a beach and sitting areas just outside, we were very satisfied. Breakfast and dinner buffets offer an excellent variety of dishes, with pleasant service. The choice is not extensive for vegetarians, but the vegetarian in our party was provided with a suitable dish on request every day. I'd certainly recommend Hotel Vis for a good value stay with a beach and local amenities nearby.

Pros: location is superb. Beautiful views Rooms are very clean but very basic, balcony lovely size. Air con very Good. Staff lovely. Good choices at breakfast buffet. Cons: I needed an iron for my clothes to go out for dinner but didn't get one until the following day. We waited for an hour as I was told a maid would drop one in but never arrived. Then was told at reception that they had to wait on one to be returned to desk and none had been yet. No kettle or tea/coffee in room, and no information on local activities. There was soap and shower gel though. Bar food very average and very expensive.for what you get. Overall a lovely stay. Would definitely go again. just missing some home comforts!
