There were a lot of good changes from when we stayed in 2019. Room is spacious and clean. Good service. Appreciate the still and sparkling water dispensers available for all guests any time. Great location- 5min walk to the metro. Good tourist places of walking distance. Good restaurant options around the area.

Newly renovated hotel in an excellent location. Quite basic, but that’s to be expected at this price point. Staff were friendly and helpful, and I appreciated the pre-check-in restaurant recommendations. Deducted one star for cleanliness. Was in general acceptable, but there were a few too many hairs of previous guests left behind for my liking and the shower (while visibly quite clean) had a distinct damp/musty smell.

We stayed in Hotel de Suez for one night. The room was nice and clean. However, the fire alarm in the hotel went off around 11pm, we started to evacuate but were quickly told it was a false alarm. When we got back to our room the phone rang and we were told that it was our room that set the alarm off. Someone from the reception desk came shortly after to "inspect" our room at told us it went off because we took a shower and left the bathroom door open - the steam from the bathroom set the alarm off. I have never heard about that happening and have left the bathroom door open after showering in hotels multiple times, it was never an issue. The man from the recpetion was very unkind, made it seem like it was obvious that you should close the bathroom door and that it was (and I quote) "our fault that the whole building woke up and had to evacuate". I proceeded to say that we do not feel guilty and it is quite ridiculus but he insisted on blaming us and making us feel stupid. Very unpleasant experience. Even if that was the case, and the steam from the bathroom sets the alarm off just let your guests know or put a note somewhere in the room/bathroom telling people to keep the door closed.
