We loved Maxim. So enthusiastic, knowledgeable, friendly. Not to diminish the remaining front desk staff - he was just outstanding. The cleaning staff was excellent as well. And your breakfast staff makes excellent scrambled eggs. Our only criticism was that we had no information as to how to control the heat in our room. It was hotter than we wanted so we kept the bathroom window open slightly.

i will from now on always stay at this hotel when i’m in paris! i had booked a fairly basic room in interest of spending more money on other experiences, but the lovely concierge Maxim upgraded my room for free, and then offered a heavily discounted rate for their premium suite on the top floor. i couldn’t refuse at the price i was offered, and with the spectacular view i have (not eiffel tower, but there’s more to paris than that!) i do not regret it at all! all staff have been friendly and helpful but Maxim went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful and safe stay in Paris. I only wish I had seen him more during my stay!

Hôtel des 3 Collèges is based between Area 6 and Area 5 of Paris and is as central as it gets. Naturally Paris is huge so you still need to get public transport to all the main sights in the city. The area where the hotel is based is lovely with bars and coffee shops on your doorsteps as well as a park to walk in. Staff are extremely polite and helpful. Arriving in November the warm was still extremely hot and I had to turn off the heating as soon as I arrived. The rooms are pretty damn small (with the bathroom even smaller) As it was only a base to sleep in this was fine.

Pros: -Location is good but could be better depending on what you plan to do in Paris. Lots of restaurants nearby that you can walk to and the Louvre is relatively close as well. If you don’t mind walking a bit, you can walk to some touristy spots like the Eiffel Tower, as well. -The front desk employees were very kind and always available. You have to drop your key off each time you leave the hotel as they apparently don’t have spares. We were concerned about wait time for picking it back up but we had no issues. -Airport pick up and drop off made travel easier at a busy airport under construction. Price is comparable to Uber but without the stress of finding an Uber once you get there. -No bed bugs. At a time when bed bugs are taking over Paris, we didn’t see a bug here. I also had spray which could have helped, but we saw no evidence of any bed bugs. Cons: -Rooms were not the cleanest with small stains on the sheets and towels. -Noise is insufferable. The entire time we listened to a family arguing in the room next door. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything from everyone. If we had stayed any longer, we would have found a different hotel for this reason alone.
