Hotel Villa Modigliani is a nice city sized hotel. Great outdoor space to rest and relax after walking the city. For foreigners the AC could leave something to be desired, but the windows open, so that's a benefit. The rooms a small - but again CITY sized - and offer just what one needs - area to rest and a good bathroom. Breakfast buffet was an added bonus, calm, lots of options. Everything was clean and neat.

This was our stay for our 30th anniversary, and it was the right choice. The room was very comfortable - the mattress was perfect - and the room was designed clearly for travelers on the move. There was plenty of storage space, a writing desk, side tables with charging capabilities and a very nice view. The courtyard provided an area for outdoor seating to relax with the sound of the fountain in the background. There was also a small business center that was useful, a souvenir shop, a cafe, and lots of tourist info in the lobby. The service was outstanding - the room was cleaned everyday. We loved walking back from our adventures and seeing our windows slightly open, knowing that it had been serviced. The front desk people were friendly and helpful, most speaking multiple languages. There was also a luggage storage area if you, as we did, get there well before check in. The location was perfect for us - not quite as busy with lots of local shops and cafes, but near multiple metro and bus stops so we had Paris in our hand. This was a fantastic vacation and this place played a big part.

My husband became unexpectedly ill on night 2 of our 6 night stay. The staff at the front desk was very responsive, calling a doctor who came within the hour, guiding him and the subsequent ambulance driver to our room with a wheelchair for hospitalization. A traumatic experience was made easier by Nicolas and the morning shift lady at the front desk. They gave us more ice and water as requested and guided me to pharmacies and other services. The breakfast was also very complete. Everyone was so hospitable, making our stay a good experience in spite of my husband being incapacitated in Paris for four days. Thank you to all the staff there, including maids who cleaned the room around our schedule. The hotel is also very quiet, with off street courtyard and fountain. We enjoyed quiet time in the private garden, too. Merci beaucoup to the friendly and helpful staff.

We were so excited about the location of our hotel, Hotel Villa Modigliani. Then we checked in!! We arrived at the hotel, which is very rundown, a fountain that does not work and is dirty, horribly ungroomed courtyard, a building that desperately needs cleaned and painted, then we went inside and were greeted by a front desk agent that spoke very good English (but chose to be non-communicating, and borderline rude). Talked us into a room with a queen bed.. only to find out the room was so small we could barely walk around the completely run down bed!! Advertised they had working AC, only to find out the staff controls the AC and only turns it on if THEY are unbearably hot!! Our bed was damp the whole time. All TV was in French or German (no subtitles)… The Bar/restaurant was only open once for 1.5 hrs, we were allowed a beer a piece then asked to leave! The massively over priced breakfast was the only half decent amenity, but I got horrible food poisoning, not sure if it’s from the hotel or the restaurant across the street. I would never stay at this hotel again, and I would recommend that anyone thinking about it, stay about 1-2miles further out, close to a hop on hop off or metro bus line, where there are lovely B&Bs and much nicer hotel, and ABSOLUTELY DO NOT STAY at this ridiculously overpriced, shamble of a hotel, They wouldn’t even help us call a Taxi. Shame on them!
