Disappointing Experience at Hotel Victoria, Paris I recently stayed at Hotel Victoria in Paris, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite being advertised as more than a 2-star hotel, it felt more like a hostel. The rooms were incredibly small, to the point where sitting sideways on the toilet was necessary. Upon arrival, our room wasn't adequately cleaned, with dirty bedsheets and visibly unwashed linens. Staying in December, the kitchen's cooking odors permeated our room from as early as 6 AM, creating an unpleasant waking experience. While waking up to the aroma of freshly baked goods sounds appealing, it lingered on our clothes throughout the day. Setting aside initial low expectations, what disappointed me the most was the lack of heating. In freezing Paris temperatures around 2 degrees Celsius, with biting wind and heavy rain, we returned to the hotel for warmth around 11 AM, only to find a cold room and an unresponsive radiator. Shockingly, we were informed that heating wouldn't be available until 5 PM – an impractical policy, especially in December. This experience, coupled with the hotel's overall condition, left me thoroughly dissatisfied. It's important to note that I seldom leave reviews, whether positive or negative. However, my frustration and anger during this stay compelled me to share my disappointment. Given the multitude of other options at a reasonable price, I cannot recommend Hotel Victoria to anyone seeking a comfortable and welcoming stay in Paris.

Reception clerk was rude. I saw an older woman ask to leave her bags in reception before her flight later that day, and he allowed it. I asked for the same service, but he told me I was strong and could carry my bags in the city all day and didn't need to leave them there. I have never had a problem leaving my bags the day of check out before my flight later in the evening in any hotel EVER, but this one didn't allow it. I am not sure if it was a racist thing, but it isn't the first time I have been treated unfairly because I am Asian. If management reads this, you should know I stayed there mid-November 2023.

Incredible location close to the Grands Boulevards station. Bed sheets, towels and everything was clean. Yes, the room is small, but it's not tiny to the point where you feel suffocated. The staff kindly let me check-in an hour before the check-in time so that's a plus. The only incident was the fire alarm going off in the morning because one of the guests tried to smoke in their room. I found it great for a budget, quick stay.

To begin with, the location is incredibly advantageous due to its proximity to all tourist destinations. It is wonderfully positioned, allowing for easy walking access to all local attractions. A metro station is conveniently located just a two-minute walk away. As for the room, it is considerably small which limits in-room activities. However, given that you're in Paris, it's mostly a place to sleep before heading out to explore. The bathroom layout is quite compact, which may be uncomfortable for taller individuals as it requires some maneuvering. You might find yourself needing to position one leg in the shower area and the other near the sink. The breakfast leaves much to be desired, so I would recommend dining at one of the nearby eateries instead. A pleasant surprise was the daily room cleaning, a service I initially thought would only be performed once. This was a significant advantage. As for the cost, it's around 70 euros per night. This is quite affordable, especially considering the central location in Paris. In conclusion, my overall assessment would be positive.

Mimicking many of the honest reviews posted. In my opinion, any of the positive reviews are suspect given our experience. First, it is most assuredly NOT a 2 star hotel by any reputable rating system, it is a hostel w walled rooms. Sad really, it could be a diamond in the rough. The breakfast area has charming architecture, the street it's on/attached to on the east end has cute boutique hotels and the location is desirable, but the end on which this hotel is has a homeless man camped outside under the arches, with his very own mattress, on the walk up to the hotel. Disconcerting. Once inside you immediately sense you've been duped by the images posted by the hotel and the "positive" reviews. The hallway floors are dirty, really dirty. The room we had elevated dirty to outright filthy. The extra bedding was thrown (not folded and placed) onto the closet shelf. The floor was obviously not swept or mopped in ages. It was as if you've walked into a teenagers room after they claim they "cleaned" it. Additionally the comforter was disgusting..looked like sweaty dirt or urine honestly. We immediately requested another room at the front desk when we expressed how filthy the room and bathroom were. There were excrement stains on the bottom of the toilet seat and hairs left all in the shower as if neither had been cleaned in days. The receptionist's response was to laugh and flippantly reply "only a few hairs?". We requested someone come clean the room and were told no one was available. Ultimately we asked for cleaning supplies so we could do it ourselves. Initially he couldn't find any cleaning supplies (we thought that fit the scenario), and when he finally found anything for us, it was a small push broom (what?) and a bleach spray with 1 rag. See the pictures. We had 1 night in Paris, and intentionally stayed out late and left early JUST because of this room. And...no AC, icing on the cake really Not worth half the price, barely worth it if it was offered free.
