I had a very short stay at The Hyatt Regency. The staff with whom I interacted were very friendly and helpful. My room was nice and had many amenities. The lobby is interesting and visually appealing. The hotel seemed to be a short walk from a lot of sights. I really enjoyed my stay.

Rooms: clean, well-appointed. Our room looked like it had been refreshed within the past few years. Ventilation: in the winter, this led to nice white noise. Noise: loud guests in the hallway at 2:45am, and then a hotel-wide “accidental” fire alarm at 4:25am, led to a rough sleep. It points to the type of guests being admitted and the lack of middle of the night security & oversight. For example, many guests were arriving with cases of alcohol, and it struck us that this is very much a “party hotel”. Location: about 8 minutes walk to nearest subway station, decent. Parking: attached to building, pretty good, but easier for smaller cars. (3-row SUV are going to struggle.) Check-in: “systems” were down at check in so we received an additional, likely temporary charge to cover the parking we’d already paid. It’s the small things that eat away at an experience, and I’d say that while many of these were 1-offs, it’s the sum total that brings my review down.

Originally booked this hotel for two nights since we figured King Street is a great location for walking around town with a lot to do, and based off the pictures we saw online it seemed as a great hotel. When we got to our room, this hotel was nothing close to the pictures shared online at the time of the booking, the halls seem run down. Even tho we had the hotel for two nights; we ended up checking out the next day and changing hotels for something that looked exactly like what we seen in the pictures prior to booking.

This is the worst, yet most expensive hotel I've ever stayed in, and I'm used to staying in random hostels around the world. For $500 a night, I expect better and cleaner rooms. Vents haven't been cleaned in probably years. I can clearly see the visible dust buildup on them. Some of the furnishings seem to be falling apart. Certain things in the bathroom are sticky. Pillows are extremely uncomfortable. The room is small and dated. View doesn't match what is described on the website. All I see is apartment buildings. There is no breakfast included, which is ridiculous considering how much I'm paying. How is it possible that I've stayed at 1 or 2 star hotels with better amenities and cleaner suites? The location is great, although a bit hidden. Staff is the only redeeming quality of this hotel. They're really friendly.
