My partner and I stayed at the Ibis at the Marschiertor in Aachen for two nights in December 2023. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the main train station. The staff on reception were friendly, and remembered us from a previous visit. Our room was clean and quiet, the air conditioning/heating worked well, and the bed was comfortable. There was a good choice of items available at breakfast.

Basic but functional room. Cleaned daily. Big, heated, mirror in the bathroom (only a shower no bath though). No: fridge; kettle; safe; cupboard or draws. The TV had access to channels with multiple languages (selected fresh for each channel). Breakfast spread was good and good value at €15 per person. Typical continental breakfast on offer with hot food options including scrambled egg, bacon and the ability to make fresh waffles. The hotel is located close to Aachen Hauptbahnhof (railway station), maybe ten minutes walk. The walk into the city is about 20 minutes. Wi-Fi was included, but sometimes unreliable.

It was located near to Aachen Hauptbahnhof.. Breakfast was good and the rooms are very small. Housekeeping is also fine. but the Receptionist person who was there were so rude since we asked for extending our stay. otherwise everything is ok

Very bad service. I paid for a late checkout for €50 and they told me it is extended till 5pm. I remembered the receptionist said that(eventhough my German is not good). Only for a cleaning lady to aggressively knock on my door tell me off I needed to go out by 2.02pm I complained at the reception and they said it is only till 2pm. So you are telling me I paid 50 euros just to stay for an hour extra?? And even if it's 2pm, why was she so aggressive when I only spent 2 minutes extra. I don't get it. Overall, staffs were unprofessional and rude for such amount of money paid. The breakfast was not good, only served bread. One will think you'll get a better service at a branded hotel but alas, this is what you get. I would absolutely NOT RECOMMEND.
