My experience at Hotel Ibis Hamburg Alsterring was less than stellar. The price seemed steep for what was offered – rooms lacked sufficient light, felt small and somewhat dreary with train-like toilets and thin walls. The only star earned is for the friendly staff, especially a receptionist who had to rely on our maintenance helper. Security, particularly in the garage, didn't meet expectations for the daily fee. Rooms were stuffy, and the non-functional air conditioning went unaddressed by the staff, who suggested opening windows near a busy road. While the staff was exceptionally friendly and the rooms were well-furnished, the lack of modern amenities was evident. There were no plugs near the bed, only 2 sockets in the room and 1 in the bathroom. The internet speed was reminiscent of the 1990s, making video conferences impossible with a mere 800 KB/s of bandwidth. Breakfast was passable, but the absence of an electric kettle and fruit salad during the week made healthy eating challenging. A notable downside was the cleaning person entering without knocking on the door. In summary, my stay fell short of expectations, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel, especially for the price.

Decent hotel, although it has only 2 stars I would give him at least 3. I can't complain about anything. The location is perfect, just next to both S-bahn and U-bahn stations so you can reach both airport and center in 20mins. Rooms are clean and decent and service ok. Breakfast is a bit expensive but you can find all kinds of food around the hotel throughout the day.

Really nice staff, great breakfast. We booked a room for 3 people but only had 1 double bed to share. The bed was rock-hard and there was barely room for all the guests at the breakfast buffet. Definitely room for improvement 😊

Says that the hotel is 2-stars but I think that the service and quality of breakfast deserve at least 3-stars. Rooms clean and big. Breakfast of great quality. Close to anything you’d like in Wandsbeck. Unfortunately price is way too high for what you get. Two double rooms for 2 nights costed my family around 700-800€ plus parking was extra few €. Bathrooms are made completely out of plastic, which wouldn’t be an issue if not the fact that the pipe in the sink has some sort of connection with the toilet which makes you smell the toilet contents when you wash your face. Additionally I think that more charging outlets would be needed in the rooms and better internet cause the speed of it right now doesn’t live up to 2023 standards. Overall I’m very happy with my stay, as said some things exceed expectations for a 2-star hotel but the price suggests it should be 3 or even 4-star.
