We had a lovely, nicely decorated "Cabana" with a beautiful view. The roof is made of straw and that should actually have a very good insulation level. The noise from the street (cars) is extremely loud. This is super annoying to say the least. Our fridge was completely iced at the top (inside) probably not cleaned (defrosted) for at least months. The safe is "broken" the electronics don't work and you are offered a "master key" to manually open the safety deposit box. The breakfast is nice. The staff is friendly The beds are nice. This Has been... A very nice place but it definitely needs maintenance. Don't expect much of the pool that is shown on the website. It's rather small (much smaller than the pictures imply) But clean, and large enough to cool down from the sun that is present the whole day in the garden. The beds next to the pool are fine and have complementary towels. The main building is in an old English/ Colonial style and impressive. You can see the glamour the whole Guesthouse once had, but that has faded a bit over the years. I am sure that after some TLC the Ikhaya (safari) lodge could be back in a magnificent state. The owner seems extremely nice and helpful.

We stayed at Ikhaya Safari Lodge for one night in Dec 2023. The lodge was amazing and so were the views. Had to be careful of the additional visitors - the baboons, however, we did not see any. The lodge décor was spectacular and in keeping with it's name. Very secluded and we did not have any additional road noise. The staff were very helpful and could not do any more for us. If you are looking for somewhere central, this is the place for you. Hop On & Hop Off bus passes by and there are numerous walking trails close by and also a Botanical Garden. Being a little high into the mountains, the surrounding area is very lush and cool.

I have heard nothing but rave reviews about this hotel! My friends and family who have visited have told me that the staff are attentive and friendly, the rooms are luxurious and well-appointed, and the location is convenient and well-connected. I'm sure it would be a fantastic place to stay, and I'm looking forward to experiencing it for myself. Based on what I've heard, I would rate this hotel 5 stars
