Good stay at IL Centro. The building is well located for access to various cafes and restaurants in Cairns but is off of the main road so is a little quieter. The esplanade is a short walk away. The apartment was clean and comfortable and in good condition although it does look a little dated in style. If you have a car, secure parking is available which is welcome for a city location. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Would I stay again? Yes!

I went in to inquire and potentially make a reservation and ... I came out barely 5 mins later without having made a reservation. And I will definitely not go back ! What a pleasure it is to come in to ask a question and to get it thrown in my face, to be told that I have no common sense at all and that I'm selfish by someone who doesn't know me. Is this a new trend to scare customers away ? If so, congrats, it's working like a charm. If you have a quick look at the previous comments, this isn't the first time people have had problems with the staff. So next time you have someone who's just looking for a place to stay safe and a car park to put their car in when a cyclone is meant to arrive the day after, avoid treating them like that, do not judge their decision to seek shelter. Thanks.

Convenient location - short walk to the Cairns Convention centre, mall, restaurants and wharf (pick up point for snorkelling/diving). Rooms are a bit tired and outdated, could be improved with new carpets, a kitchen and bathroom upgrade. Front entrance is locked after hours so the place felt secure.

Bed was like a trampoline … if you moved in any way your partner bounced on the other side of the bed. Pillows were atrocious (very lumpy). Time for management to spend some dollars on new bedding !!! Aircon is hard to get right … too cold in the lounge area but not cold enough in the bedroom. Was looking forward to a few afternoons relaxing by the pool however not a lounge chair to be seen anywhere (just tables and chairs). Pool wasn’t even lit up at night. When asked manager to assist in logging in to wifi he grabbed my phone off me without asking. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Nothing in room indicating coffee shop operating hours or instructions for checking out. Location good but will be looking elsewhere next visit. For $200+ a night, it’s not worth the money.
