Terrible Experience at Hotel Inspira Ella in Sri Lanka: I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Hotel Inspira Ella in Sri Lanka and I cannot emphasize enough how disappointing my stay was. From the moment I entered the room, it became evident that the hotel had a severe insect problem. The issues I encountered were beyond unacceptable, and the staff's response was equally disheartening. The bed, which is supposed to be a sanctuary of comfort, quickly turned into a nightmare as insects began crawling on it. It was truly horrifying to witness big flying ants, bees, and large ants invading the sleeping area. I couldn't believe this was happening in a supposedly reputable hotel. To make matters worse, the cleanliness of the room was appalling. Clearly, the hotel hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Underneath the bed was an absolute disaster, with dust, dirt, and other debris accumulated over time. However, the real horror was under the sink, where there seemed to be a thriving nest-like crowd of insects. The mere sight of it was enough to leave me feeling disgusted and visually overwhelmed. When I approached the manager about this unsanitary situation, they casually dismissed it as a one-time occurrence, claiming that the insects had entered from outside. This explanation was, at best, an excuse to avoid taking responsibility for the obvious lack of proper pest control measures in place at the hotel. It was clear that this issue was far from isolated. Fearing for a night full of an open eye for insects, I took matters into my own hands and emptied an entire bottle of pesticide that I happened to have with me that night. However, that did little to alleviate my discomfort, and I ultimately made the difficult decision to leave the hotel and find alternative accommodation. To my dismay, the hotel refused to offer any sort of refund for the nightmare I endured. This lack of customer support only further demonstrated their disregard for guest satisfaction and speaks volumes about their overall professionalism and commitment to quality. I strongly advise against anyone considering staying at Hotel Inspira Ella. The insect infestation, the unhygienic conditions, and the dismissive attitude towards guests' concerns are qualities that no guest should have to tolerate. It is simply unacceptable and goes against the basic principles of what a hotel should offer – a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for guests to relax. Save yourself the stress, disappointment, and potential health risks by seeking accommodation elsewhere. Hotel Inspira Ella's lack of action and negligence should not be rewarded with your hard-earned money.

Inspira Ella will really inspire you to stay at this wonderful place with a marvelous mountain view at a great value. A 3-storey guesthouse standing the highest at the Sapulmathena area and near from the center of Ella. It is 1.4 km from Ella Railway Station, Little Adams Peak and Ravana Zipline. It has the wooden theme with simple furnitures that suits well the nature surrounded with trees with monkeys, squirrels and birds which often visit at the balconies mostly morning from sunrise till 10am. The caretakers are living beside the guesthouse and they are very assisting. They have a laundry service and make breakfast which is included with your stay. I really love this place and therefore strongly recommend this to anyone especially couples, family or solo traveller like me. The only thing you need to consider is you should be able to walk to the steep roads as this is located at the higher area (the higher, the better view, so now you know) otherwise you may use tuktuk easily. Once again, this is a hidden gem place.
