Embarking on my first Rio adventure, I chose the Ipanema Beach Hostel for its unbeatable beachside location and my love for the timeless melody of 'Girl from Ipanema.' Despite the relentless heat and humidity, my stay was a true delight. While the elusive 'Ipanema girl' remained a mystery, the hostel fostered a fantastic environment for connecting with fellow globetrotters. A heartfelt thank you, Ipanema Beach Hostel, for orchestrating a vibrant and memorable chapter in my Rio journey. As fate would have it, my arrival brought an unexpected challenge when a power outage cast the hostel into darkness on that initial night. Wrestling with the oppressive heat became a formidable task. Yet, a commendation is due to the swift-thinking receptionist who seamlessly relocated me to a neighboring hostel, turning an unforeseen circumstance into a fortuitous blessing. The change provided a cool and tranquil haven for a restful night's sleep, ensuring that my overall experience at Ipanema Beach Hostel remained overwhelmingly positive.

I loved staying at this hostel! First time, solo traveller, and I felt very welcomed by the entire staff. The location and facilities are great for the price of the room. The beach is 1 block away, just a few minutes to walk. There are many activities organized by the hostel, so even if you are traveling alone, you just have to jump into an activity and instantly you have an awesome group to adventure with. They organize everything through a group chat - which you join after checking in. Its so easy to connect with others staying here, and to plan activities through here too. There is another related hostel, across the corner of the street, where you can socialize and meet others there as well. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. If i ever need another hostel to stay in Rio, i would stay here again. MUITO OBRIGADO ✨️🙏

All the staff at Ipanema Beach hostel are great - I really appreciate Alexandra for taking us on a cool hike to two brothers and going through favela vidigal. She was fun and real helpful and friendly - she kept us entertained during the hike which helped us get through it.
