Ivy Luxury Hotel & Apartment

Lovely hotel downtown Mpls. Walked through on our way to Anda Spa (which was very nice). Player piano was a nice touch. Staff was helpful walking through. Valet service was friendly.

Ok but not luxury. Lots of little problems. Was planning a nice long weekend getaway with my husband. I reserved the room through Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card. I requested a King bed months in advance and received an email confirming a king. However, when I arrived, no king. Hotel Ivy said they don’t guarantee what I reserve from a third party. If I wanted a guaranteed king, I would have to book through them directly. Ok. Disappointed but still fine. If this were the only problem, it would be okay but several more things were not good. No housekeeping at all on the second night. Just did not come. My soap was not filled. There was a note in the bathroom that there would be a $40 charge to refill the products but at least fill them up. I had only about 1/10 of the dispenser filled. I prepaid through my credit card rewards program but woke up to a text from my bank saying Hotel Ivy charged my card $2,000. Had to ask the hotel what was going on. They stated only a pre-authorization and that it would drop off. Weird. No coffee cups at the coffee dispenser, had to ask for more. Booked two spa treatments for me and my husband. The waiting lounge we were shown to had dirty cups and bottles on every side table even though it was empty. Had to move garbage around to sit there. When I came back from spa to the locker room, no towels out. I showered and dried off with my robe. No one at checkout desk. Was just contemplating leaving when a woman walked out of another room. Final step when leaving, I stopped by the desk and asked if they could break a $20 for the valet, sorry, they were out of change. They just seemed understaffed and so many things just not followed through. They bill themselves as a “luxury” hotel but definitely not luxury. So overall the hotel and spa were just not worth the price.
