Kactus Hotel

Right on the beach, so a great location. The room is spotless, great choice of good quality food in the buffet meals and very attentive service. Just needs a bit of TLC and refurbishment in a few areas. The pool is smaller than it looks in the promotional materials, thanks to creative photography angles but, as it's only a few steps across a very quiet road to the sea, that's not too much of a minus point.

Positive: location, view from the terrace. The partly covered roof swimming pool. The friendliness of the waiters and receptionist except one gentleman. The kindness and discretion of the cleaning ladies. The space of the room. Negative: condition of the rooms (wall peeling off, smell, electric wires hanging in front of the door), air conditioning, fridge that doesn't work well, wifi doesn't work (the receptionist tells us it's not true it works everywhere, we came back several times asking to come and check, no one). No clothes hanger, given the dirty state of the chairs on the balcony, we don't want to hang the laundry. The room furniture is old and smelly. No privacy with neighboring balconies, and especially putting up with smokers. The side sea view is a view of the apartments opposite, you lean over to see a little of the sea. The restaurant: really not good, no instructions on most meals, we asked the cooks they say we don't know not. Really not nice.It doesn't seem to bother anyone that there are fans on the dishes, and the water running. I think this hotel is for regular elderly people (who overtake us at reception), participate in the hotel evenings adapted to their age, like liquid and pureed and tasteless food. Ground floor swimming pool dirty and small, deckchairs covered with towels in the morning and people only come in the afternoon. No supervision for children. We asked for a day's parking, were told to pay for a week but they weren't sure there was space so we parked further away for free. We asked for a picnic at reception with a specific food intolerance menu, we were told no problem, but the next day was a bad surprise. Not enough elevator.
