Really nice hotel. I loved the people and room. Room rate was relatively expensive as a hotel in Ulaanbaatar, but compared with other countries, this place is far cheaper. One thing I need to not for this hotel is location. It's almost 2 kilometers away from the central.

Large rooms. Quite dated hotel. My bathroom door locks fail to open. Please check them and also do check the bathroom phone is working at the point of check-in. I was locked out in the toilet at 4 am for 20 mins. And the bathroom phone is not working. I couldn't call for help. It was traumatic and I had bruises on my hands trying all ways to open the toilet door from inside. Finally the lock just opens after countless attempts. I have spoken to hotel GM to help look into these issues as so it could happen to anyone old folks & even children. The GM said he will replace them immediately. Otherwise it is a good hotel. Hotel GM compensated my stay with a discount.

I spent five nights at the Kempinski in Ulaanbaatar and have nothing but good things to say about them. Anna at the front desk was wonderful to deal with. A supplier gave me flowers when I arrived at the airport and Anna arranged a vase to send to the room to keep them fresh. I had a suite as usual and was very impressed with the comfort and space. They even had Japanese Toto toilets and a soaker tub. All in all, a great hotel with superb management and a place I would go to again. Even the hotel restaurant was a treat. I gained three pounds eating there....

Definitely one of the best hotels in UB. We stayed here after a 7 day road trip around Mongolia and wanted to treat ourselves with a little modern comfort and luxury. Oh boy it was absolutely a treat. Room was huge and clean and comfortable. Even came with a huge bathtub. The most important thing for us was a strong shower with hot water and it definitely delivered. The breakfast was also good. Will highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a little luxury in UB!
