For the price I payed , I would have expected better service Reception was always busy ! I needed milk and new towels and needed to leave my room to try and look for help , took me a while to find someone Sunday morning there was maintenance and loud noise right outside my window, from 8 am - 11 am we definitely should have been informed about this beforehand or else we would have changed rooms , TV is not in the same direction as the bed, walls are paper thin can hear everyone's conversation and there was lots of conversation for both mornings we stayed , I would not recommend this place !

Stayed for two nights, called the reception after hours as they have a number for that, wanted too find out what time is the latest time too check out & no body knew the answer too that, called two numbers and got told they don't know I must wait for reception tomorrow at 10am. Poor work ethic. Sunday morning 8am I was woken up by the maintenance guys who were drilling holes in the wall & could hear their voices while they work on the property. Inconsiderate for a Sunday morning and knowing that there are guests on the property. Things like this need too be told before hand to guests or start the job at 10am, since that's the normal time people check-out. Rooms are small, the TV is not in the same direction as the bed, walls are paper thin can hear everyone's conversation and the bed is uncomfortable.

Very clean, however no street signs so very hard to find. Entrance is on the side and very hard to know you are there. Small gold writing on a black sign on a black building. Very frustrating. The sign can be seen above the red car IF YOU ZOOM IN.

I had the toughest time finding this hotel at night because there were no signs that can be seen from the main street and the general area was poorly lit. If you arrive at night, pull into the lot with Big Mart Supermarket and head towards the container-like building adjacent to there. I would say Kolmar Inn was one of the worst hotels that I've stayed in while visiting New Zealand. The room was clean but was claustrophobically small, similar to what you'd find on a college campus. The heater did not function correctly. Even though the heater was set at 30° C, it was only blowing warm air that was immediately nullified by the cold air coming through the windows. The amenities were lacking and they used one dedicated key card with hard written number on it for each room. The neighborhood was sketchy and there were security guards stationed at the front at most of the businesses nearby. I made sure to take everything out of my car because there were broken glass all over the parking lot. The only reason to stay here is for its proximity to the Auckland airport and that's it. Otherwise, I'd steer far away from this place as possible.
