The arrogant owner, with an extremely cold and self-righteous attitude, provided almost no service, making it the worst 2-day stay throughout the entire trip in New Zealand. The room layout is more like a dormitory, with several people sharing a common room. The common room has very basic utensils and there is no timely replenishment. The owner has an unusual insistence on parking, insisting on parking in the space corresponding to your room number. Even if only 2 rooms in the entire hotel are booked, if you do not park in your designated space, even for a minute, you will be evicted by the owner. Breakfast was okay. The value for money is extremely low, hoping that this lodge could receive better maintenance and be managed by people who understand business operations better.

I agree with the previous reviews…..some must be fake? I literally couldn’t walk on the floor without shoes. So old and tired. We were meant to stay 2 nights but forgot the money and moved on quickly! So relieved we did. The breakfast was very poor too. We traveled for 6 weeks and this was the most overpriced place we stayed! There is no way this is a luxury place…..

Yes the rooms were great, the lake side wonderful, the breakfast excellent. But above all, the staff is very kind, discreet and professional. The manager, Simon, has been incredibly kind and efficient when I have had to require his help for something very important to me. We only stayed 1 night, but I will never forget Koura Lodge! I wish you too experiment a perfect stay thank to this perfect team. Thank you Simon.

I can’t help but believe the other review are fakes. The rooms are extremely dated. The carpet is worn, torn, and frayed. The breakfast looked as though it was sourced from a nearby gas station. Assorted pastries and mealy looking eggs. The staff were nothing special, just fine. The lake front setting is nice, but you are far from town and the hotel entry/ exit is a narrow single lane.
