A truly wonderful hotel with its own special charm and true Japanese punctuality in absolutely everything. The staff does their job superbly, thanks to which our holiday was unforgettable. Breakfast was beyond all praise. In no other hotel in the world that we have visited have we enjoyed the food as much as in this hotel. The onsen was also wonderful. And most importantly, sterile cleanliness. The location is quite convenient, next to the train station and very quiet and safe. Highly recommend to all travelers to Kyoto.

Rooms were tiny and very ancient smelling. We were given a room on the 5th floor ( 525). Very smelly ( sewage and dingy). Next day they changed us to another on the same floor (516) slightly better, but still very dingy. Had to keep using the air freshener constantly, with very little help. Location was great- just outside the station. Staff didn’t know much English ( if this is a requirement) but they were very courteous. Tried their best with the voice translator . Breakfast was ok, but Staff were great.

Nice little hotel close to Yamashina station. The rooms are small, but very clean and come with everything you need. The price was also very reasonable, though the breakfast buffet was a little on the expensive side. It's also strange that the public bath is only for females...unusual. Overall though, it was great value and fairly modern looking inside. The king size bed was also extremely comfortable.
