The location is great and the breakfast is considerably good. However, the rooms are rather old, not perfectly clean and some only have a "fake" window to funnel. Also, you can hear everything happening on the corridor and in neighbouring rooms, as the walls and the door are thin. Would not stay again. Currently there is construction work in the next building, which will wake you up early in the morning.

Just an ok place. We had a bad experience, the walls are paper thin and you could hear people as if they were in the room with you (at all hours). There was also construction work going on next door from 7am-11pm every night. We didn’t get much rest here. The staff were very pleasant and the hotel itself was nice and clean. There are several cafes and restaurants on the same street and it’s just a short walk into the city centre.

NEVER EVER book this hotel, this hotel is a SCAM. I booked a hotel on Traveloka (and checked the price for the same on the Agoda application). I have received the booking code. After arriving at the hotel, the receptionist said that the rooms were full and we were told to go to the next hotel (La Renata). while the La Renata receptionist said they were not in the same company as Sonata. After a long debate, finally the manager came and said, "The price listed on Traveloka is a mistake, the price is too cheap, if you want to stay here you have to pay an extra 1,600,000 VND." after a very long debate and because it was late at night, we finally had to pay an extra 800,000VND. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN VISITING HANOI, DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE BOOKING A HOTEL AROUND THE OLD QUARTER AREA, ALMOST ALL THE REVIEWS ARE THE SAME, FULL OF SCAMS.

The staff was excellent. They answered any and all questions, even helped us get to Cat Ba. Even with the rude foreign customers, they were still smiling and attentive. Remember you in a different country where the economy is not like Europe or theUS so it might seem dated but you sure aren't paying those prices are you?They also add a charge for using a credit card and require a deposit and extra charge if you want another key card. Which you get back when you leave

Location is very good, the lady in the reception is very friendly but the two man who work there (I think it was a father and a son) they were unfriendly and a bit strange. The breakfast area was very dirty and smelly, the breakfast was very bad and the coffee… worse we had in Vietnam. Also the pictures are very fake, it looks luxurious but the hotel clearly needs a renovation- it doesn’t look like that at all.
