Laguna Park 2

All things considered I decided to rate 4 stars. We reserved room via the resort's own website and paid at site by cash, card was accepted too. Service was good, beds were ok. The third bed under the sofa is excellent. Our room had a well enough equipped kitchen but was missing some things like corkscrew. We saw one cockroach during our stay in the hotel, and that was honestly our fault for keeping the door open all day. The cockroach was easy to throw out. The janitors were mostly friendly and cleaned the rooms well. Promises by staff were kept. Breakfast separately bought cost 8 euros. I would spend a little more for my hotel next time, but definitely a good choice if on a budget. I don't regret staying here.

Awful experience. Hotel is extremely dated. Every room is the same, origional furniture old and worn. The rooms are graded based on their views, the higher up you are the better the view, unfortunately the pool and restaurant are down the bottom, the balconies are not furnished for comfortable sitting out in, so you will end up down by the pool or as far away from the hotel during the day as possible. I checked about gluten free options before we travelled and was assured everything would be labelled. This resulted in there being very little besides salads at most meals that I could eat. There was an old envelope of labels which were randomly stuck above dishes. The piella's and rice even had gluten in them as did the soups. The staff were nice, but there was nothing they could do for me except defrost some bread and buns a few times. The boiler in our room was broken from the get go. We went up to reception 4 times to complain, eventually after 9 days we were told to come back on day 11 and they would have a replacement room. On day 11 we were told that we could not have the room we were promised because it was not at the rate we had paid for and a room we were on the same grade would be available soon. We asked to see the room. It was in bits. We complained we had had to wait around all day this was day 11 without a hot shower and it was tough luck. We stood our ground and demanded another room. We got one and it was exactly the same as the previous two, just ready... so all the rooms are the same, they just have some sort of pecking order to increase costs. You will want to spend as little time in this place as possible. Staff are nice until you have a problem, in our case no hot water for 11 days and then it is tough luck. There is a very limited bus service down to the beach. We uses it to get down the hills a few times, but as I said very limited it comes back up again, but not for ages so we ended up walking up a couple of times each day. Food that I could eat was bland. It was all paper cups for drinks with the exception of coffee cups at breakfadt, then the coffee machine was turned off and you had to go down to the pool bar after lunch & dinner to get a cup of tea or coffee again in a paper cup. The evening entertainment was for young children, games to music till late. Again all the drinks were in paper cups, loud music and soccer games around the tables on the terrace. There was nowhere else to go at this stage except back to your room, so as I said you plan to spend as little time as possible in the hotel.
