Whoever rated this under a 2 is crazy. If you’re looking for a commercial hotel this isn’t it, but it’s so much for charismatic and lovely than that. The views are spectacular, the rooms are so homey, and the host is wonderful. This was such a special part of our trip. Breakfast on the balcony with a view was chefs kiss. The walk to town was a tough 5 minutes ;) the ONLY thing I would ask for (and it doesn’t seem common here in NZ) is a small plug in fan by the bed at nighttime. Our favorite thing was having a cheese board with wine at our table or deck before heading for excursion or so town for dinner. Kaikoura we will be back!

Loved my room with my own terrace Super fresh clean crisp linens and towels Excellent big comfy bed Private and quiet Awesome self-serve breakfast buffet with fresh croissants among many other yum things.... and best of all.... Look at the view!!!!

Nice place with nice view. We had the garden room so we could not appreciate the view from our room. In general we had a good experience but it is more a b&b then a little hotel. For sure not a luxury hotel nevertheless they have the ambition (and costs) to be. The reception doesn’t exist is just a very small place with a desk where just one person can stay inside I would recommend to improve the last point and some features in the bedrooms.
