Lodge Drive Apartments

Currently staying at Lodge Drive Apartments. Generally the location, parking and apartment size is good. The apartment however is super dusty, the blinds haven’t been cleaned in probably forever and neither have the head boards. If you have a dust allergy please avoid as you will struggle. The apartment itself has the potential to be really nice however everything is pretty tacky and/or broken. Uncomfortable mattresses, broken sofas, ripped chairs the list goes on! Bathrooms are nice and clean and spacious however, probably the only thing nice about the place! It’s a shame really as these apartments have the potential to be so much better and I would have been happy to pay extra if they did fix all the issues! Thank goodness me and the family are out of this place in 3 days!

First of all this place is hidden away near a public car park and also the children's Discovery centre is below so it's hard to tell it is a block of apartments. Really needs to have a sign as when we arrived we went to the public car park instead as we couldn't see the apartment. They have their own gated car park that opens with the key provided. The car park is very small and cramped. The check in was awful. There is no reception, only one man attending to everyone. So we were left locked in the car park for 10 mins (since we hadn't been handed our keys yet) until he came to check us in, there was also another family waiting too. The apartment was basic, you could tell they had the very minimum needed to facilitate the rooms and no decor to make it feel homely. My room had a broken blind that wouldn't roll up and there were no lamps. Bathroom was spacious and had plenty of room for placing products. The shower was weak and there was no fan so it steamed up very quickly and took long to clear. The shower screen was only covering 1/3 of the bath so a lot of water spill out. The only mirror in the apartment was in the bathroom, so it was difficult to get ready especially when the bathroom mirror was all steamed up after all our showers! I had to resort to using the microwave door as an alternative mirror! The kitchen has a cooker, microwave and dishwasher but our dishwasher was broken. They do provide dishwasher tablets, fairy liquid and a sponge but no cloths to wipe the tables, tea towels or handsoap for the bathroom. They were very few tea cups, plates, bowls etc. The tea cups were very small and a few glasses were chipped. And they only provided 2 toilet rolls for 4 people that were residing for 3 nights! Beds we ok but the pillows were flat and uncomfortable. Our rooms were facing the public car park and generally at night it was quiet. The rooms were spacious but there was a lot of wasted space near the front door. They provided an iron and ironing board, washing machine and dryer. The housekeeping staff were rude as they barged into our room when we were still getting dressed. The only good thing I can say is the location is great. Just off the main road where there are plenty of eateries and bakeries, and just a 5 min walk to Palmer's green train station. Although they provided the basic needs for overnight stays, it was quiet expensive for what was provided and the service was disappointing. So I do not recommend staying here.
