MainStay Suites Savannah Midtown

Staff was really nice and the lobby was clean but I probably wouldn't stay here again. After we moved to our second room the hallway wasn't clean. We could see the obvious plaster repair on the walls everywhere and they definitely need new furniture (chips and scuffs all over). What was the purpose of 3 remotes for 1 TV? Please get the issue with the water fixed.

This stay has been absolutely terrible the moment we walked into the building. Stepping through the front doors we were immediately smacked in the face with the smell of weed. Whatever, we can push on through that. The man at the front desk was very nice and got us set up in our room very quickly. Upon entering our room we were initially pleased. We had a full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, microwave (actually 2 because the main one was either broken or not hooked up), and things seemed clean at first glance. Upon closing the doors behind us we started to notice some things that we found to be unacceptable. The floor throughout the entire room was sticky (which I assume was from a quick mop of the floor, but it was gross and I didn't want to walk barefoot on these floors). The tv remote turned on the tv but did not work other than adjusting the volume, and then eventually the remote didn't work at all so no tv. That's ok, we don't need tv on our vacation let's just ignore that. I decided to open the curtains because there is minimal lighting in the room and I was greeted with the entire window seal caked in black mold. This is when the cleanliness of the room really started to get to me. I started unpacking because I don't like to rock the boat and I just wanted to push through and try and have a good time. While laying items out on the bed I noticed that there was a makeup stain (I hope it was a makeup stain) on the bed sheet as well as another stain on the comforter. We pulled the covers back to find hair in our bed as well. At this point we are really starting to get angry, but again we didn't say anything. We were going to spend minimal time in here any way and it was a place to keep our things so we didn't feel it was worth the effort. The bathroom was clean but the tub wouldn't drain properly. Our door keys stopped working not only once but two separate times and we were unable to get into the building. We had to walk all the way around the building for help but there was no one to be found at the desk. Luckily my key just happened to work for whatever reason and we were able to get back into our room. Really this was a terrible experience. I would say the only good thing about this place was the workers, but I don't know if I can do that because there was no one at the desk to help us with our keycards. I would NOT recommend staying here and spend your money on a better hotel.
