The resort has potential but currently looks abandoned due to ongoing construction, which I was informed about upon arrival. Despite this, the privacy of the resort with only 8 rooms was a highlight, offering a spacious setting for its price and a stunning sunset view. However, there were a few drawbacks. Rats emerged during sleeping hours, disrupting my husband's sleep, and the water supply was inconsistent during showers. On a positive note, the staff provided excellent service. They were incredibly helpful in arranging bike rentals, horse rides, a private boat, and even a taxi back to our hotel. Their assistance significantly enhanced our overall experience. In summary, Mala Garden Resort has potential, and with improvements in construction and pest control, it could be a fantastic destination. The staff's exceptional service added value to our stay despite the inconveniences.

Had a lovely experience staying at Mala Garden. Me and my fiance stayed here for a three nights and enjoyed our stay. The rooms are clean, spacious and well maintained with great aircon but no TV, the private pool had a great view out to sea but the next door alleyway wall had alot of griffiti and rubbish that could be cleaned to improve the overall look. It was very quite and the pool had a swim up bar. We didnt have breakfast or eat here so i cant comment on that. The Wifi isnt great but i hear that the owners are looking to upgrade this soon. Now the best part of this resort is the staff, they are all amazing but one member stood out for us. We had an incredible interaction with the manager called Danny, he went above and beyond to make our stay the best it could be and he excelled on this. He was incredibly lovely to me and my partner and no request was to big for him. I requested an electric scooter upon arrival and he sourced one for me within an hour making sure it was charged at night ready for me the following day, he was super helpful with everything. I also dropped my phone in the sea and he was extremely helpful with trying to get this fixed for me, even taking it to lombok and spending his days off helping. I cannot thank Danny and all the staff enough for their kind, helpful, friendly and incredible service that made our stay very pleasant. We would come back and stay again just for the staff. Exeptional. Thank you Danny, thank you all, Tom.

Worst place I’ve ever stayed. It looks like it’s abandoned now. No wifi in the room, electricity got cut off almost all night, there are mosquitoes and they don’t prepare any spray or anything. The staff are hardly there, if u need anything u’r on ur own. How could this place got 4 star rating?????

My stay at Mala Garden was great. The room was very nice, spacious with necessary amenities like fridge. The bathroom though very large and spacious was very unique- as it was open from the top exposed to outdoors (although rain won’t affect as the shower/ toilet area was covered). The hotel grounds were very beautiful, with lush gardens, swings and a very nice pool facing the ocean. The area itself was close to many other bars, restaurants. They also help with renting out bikes, and you can get horse carriage next to the hotel. The hotel was very close to Mad monkey hostel which was a fun place to hang around with other backpackers. It is slightly far from the ferry, so you’ve to take a horse carriage to get there as it’s a bit far to walk with suitcases and there’s no other transportation on the island except for bicycles. Overall it is a very beautiful hotel, and might stay again here next time
