I enjoyed the experience here. The rooms were great and huge. We have our own swimming pool because we booked the private pool villa and there were stunning rice field view surrounding the villa. It was really nice, with a lot of space and very secluded feel. The staff all very friendly and helpful. They cleaned the villa every day, no issues for cleanliness. People should be aware that this villa surrounded by nature and really close to rice field so there are lots of bugs that can get in the room. We have been told in advance to close the windows and door every time we leave so the bugs won’t come in. The location is also not in central Ubud but shuttle services are convenient.

I really enjoyed staying at this villa. The villa facilities are very complete and very clean, very quiet villa with views of the rice fields. The villa staff were also very friendly while providing service to us at the villa. I will stay again at this villa when I go on holiday.

At first instance you might feel the villa is secluded, but all the villas in Ubud will be around rice fields and in open fields. Hence, don't be worried with it. The place is beautiful with all the required amenities. They provide a wholesome tasty breakfast and the owners are very sweet and helpful. They provided suggestions to explore and have a good time in Ubud. They also accompanied us to Bali Swing and helped us with arranging bikes to go around. Value for money.

Great things: Spacious with good facilities - Netflix in the TV for all rooms, pool with outdoor showering and separate showering facilities from the room, keeping the wet and dry area clean. This will be a perfect stay for friends who are crashing over at Bali. Service and hosts were fantastic - very friendly, very helpful. My kids were sick and puking and they suggested local remedies (sugar water) and were willing to assist with our requests of change of bedsheets and blankets. The kitchen is available for use with full facilities and they asked us to feel free to use their condiments to cook. Great housekeeping. There’s a housekeeper who is able to assist us, keeping the area clean and tidy. Areas of Concern: Are all villas and hotels in Ubud full of ants and bugs? It wasn’t the case when I stayed in Seminyak. But there’s really a lot of ants, flies and bugs in this Ubud villa even though the door and windows were closed most of the time. The sugar they offered to us as part of the condiments in the kitchen also had ants there. For a city dweller like me, the cleanliness is an issue not because it is not clean, but because of the bugs that are all around. Security might be a concern for people who are fussy. Hosts and gardener were going in and out of the villa on the first day as they seem to be redoing the garden. The housekeeper also has free access to the villa. But they do have keys for you to lock your own room if you want. But for those fussy about privacy and security, might not be for you.

Warning: Mardika Villa in Kedewatan, Ubud, owned by Ibu Dayu Mardika, reviewed excellent and given 8.3 rating on Agoda is a TOTAL SCAM! We arrived with high hopes, only to be met with appalling conditions, and INVESTED WITH TERMITES!!! The villa was dirty: bugs and worms marching on the floor, Termites, torn curtains, grimey bathrooms, ant infestations, bugs on the bed, showcasing a complete disregard for the basic standards of hospitality. Not to mention yellow stained bedsheets and foul-smelling pillowcases. We tried to put up with the situation, cleaned the villa ourselves and stayed for one night. But when we woke up, we found more bugs on our bed and on the floor! Imagine if the bugs went inside our nostril or ears while we sleep! The doors and windows did not have proper sealant, that’s how the bugs come in continuously. We decided to end our stay at once. We tried to resolve the issue through management and Agoda, but met with refusal from villa owner, who displayed lack of accountability and customer service. Her refusal to engage in any form of communication, even blocking us on social media, was unprofessional and personally insulting. We paid nearly $950 and pleaded refund for just $500 for the unused 3 nights, but we hit wall after wall, ghosted by Ibu Dayu Mardika. While Agoda was helpful and attempted to mediate, their offer of a mere $232 was disappointing. It seems Agoda is unfortunately caught in the middle of this unprofessional villa scam. Stay away from this villa and save yourselves the distress and disappointment we endured. Don’t throw your hard-earned money down the drain!
