I stayed in Longyearbyen for 3 days to celebrate my birthday. I cannot stress enough how nice the receptionist was! She was always eager to help whenever I needed to send an email to some activity organiser or simply get around the town. I bet she would have even helped me with my homework had I asked! She even wished me happy birthday :D The rooms were quite small (approx. 5 m^2), but this wasn't an issue, as I almost never sat in my room and was always going places. When the day of my birthday came, I was offered not one, but 2 desserts (one at breakfast, one at dinner)! The waiters also wished me happy birthday, which really felt just like a birthday gift! Lastly, the hotel has its own restaurant. It's quite classy, so the prices are also high :) The food is excellent though and it goes smoothly along with a local beer or a glass of wine. Concluding, my stay at Mary-Ann's was absolutely fantastic and I would recommend this hotel to everyone planning to come to Svalbard!

I stayed two nights from 24/07/23~26/07/23. My room had two single beds. I shared shower room and rest room. The breakfsst was very good. Even there were a living room snd kitchen. You can cook there.

Absolutely most important „heritage” hostel in Longyear the climate/style is unique but at least one night is a must. If travelling as a group checkout family rooms (sleep 4)

Located in Waking distance to the center, I stayed here with a friend during our visit to Svalbard in October 2020. The staff was very friendly and the lounge has a very cozy atmosphere and offers tea, which is great after a long cold day in the arctic. The rooms are quite small, which is not a big deal as you will mostly spend your time in the outsides, exploring Svalbard.

A great hotel to start your Secret Atlas expedition. Mary-Ann’s offers an authentic hotel and restaurant in former miners accommodation. It offers lots of personality that is sometimes missing from chain hotels. The breakfast is great in a large conservatory with a polar view which doubles as a restaurant with lots of atmosphere. The rooms are more basic and it is ideal for lower cost accommodation in LONGYEARBYEN. There is even a polar bear on the wall. Highly recommended.
