What an amazing experience at this hotel! Beautifully updated but still has that historical charm. The location is perfect if you want to experience the tourist attractions. The subway is also a short walk away which is a huge bonus. There is also a grocery store right across the street and a fridge in the room so you can get basics for your stay which is great if you are on a budget. The service is friendly and welcoming every time you walk into the hotel. The rooms were very clean and comfy. The housekeepers do an outstanding job as well. Every time we came back to our room the bed was tightly made, stocked with new warm towels and an overall clean room, it was great. The housekeepers outdid themselves and we were eternally grateful for that! The hotel itself was quiet and we had no issues at all. We will be back to NYC and when we are, we will be staying at The Mayfair. Thank you to the staff for providing us with such a great place to experience the city!

Wow! I was nervous due to the previous reviews, but was delightfully proved wrong. It has been fully renovated as of December of '23. This hotel is small and tucked away, right on Broadway and Times Square, and near every subway line. The location could not be better. It had clean rooms, daily cleaning, friendly staff, and it is ultra safe. They lock the exterior doors of the hotel every night at 11, making it accessible only to those with keys. The rooms are small, but match the price and the city. Probably 15x10 ft for the 2 person suite, with an added 8x8 ft bathroom. 55 inch TV. Again, cannot say enough how happy we were. It made for a great honeymoon!

A plus for service. Unfortunately, there was a cable problem affecting some rooms. Not only did the staff move me to a new room, but the manager brought the shower chair to my new room. Rooms are cozy and had a pleasant European feel. I definitely would stay here again. Kudos to the staff and manager!

Buyer beware- every room listing says it has a mini-fridge in it but they do not all have one. If having one is important to you then do not book their most basic room as I was told the rooms ending in 7 or 8 do not have them (I had a 7 room). They are falsely advertising this on their website. The staff is very nice and did offer to switch my room but by this time I had already unpacked and was more of a hassle than it was worth.
