I had the pleasure of staying at the Mercure Hotel, Newport on Friday as my works Christmas party was being held nearby. The hotel is spotlessly clean and decorated to a high standard. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially on the check in desk. I did order food via room service, which took 90 minutes to arrive however, the member of staff who brought the food up to my room was very apologetic for the delay and explained that there was a Christmas function on downstairs, which led to service being slower than usual. This is completely understandable and wasn't a problem for me. The food was absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for 1 night on a work trip whilst there was a football game in town and the hotel was fully booked. I must say - everything from service to the cleanliness to the room itself was amazing. The location is perfect, bang in the centre of the city. Staff were absolutely lovely, even though they’ve had some issues with key cards they were very apologetic and happy to help. Breakfast selection was quite good, absolutely LOVED that they’ve offered to take some pastries with me and even gave me a little Tupperware box. When you’re travelling for work these kind of gestures mean the absolute world. The room was clean and well stocked. I will be definitely staying here again when visiting for work.

I had to get a room in this beautiful hotel as an emergency due to the storm battering the country in the past 24 hours and as our train was unfortunately cancelled due to the storm we was going to be stuck in Newport. So I booked the only available room that was available for this place and I was so pleased that I had made the right decision. Wheeling in my chair into the spacious and welcoming reception are the the staff was very welcoming. They greeted me and my husband with kindness. The staff was very kind to us and we was given our room for the 1 night. The lift was spacious for a wheelchair and when we got to our floor I was so surprised that the beautiful decor continued in the corridors. As we opened the room we was astounded with the amazing wheelchair friendly room it was absolutely perfect. The shower was ideal for wheelchairs and the safety features in the room was outstanding. I will be recommending this room to any disabled room as the quality is 1000% there. If I can give this hotel a 100000 out of ten I certainly would.
