Miami 4 Bedroom Home, 10 Guests BBQ Museums & Art

While this beach house has a phenomenal location to the beach access point, I am a bit disappointed in the overall feel of the home. I totally appreciate that the home may be a legacy having been built in 1948, with possibly a rich family history, per the house history photo collage. However, it has definitely missed some love and investment to bring it up to date. Upon arrival, there was old beach stuff left under the deck area, possibly from other renters, that looked old and needed to be discarded.  At entering, it smelled like a closed up cabin. Thankfully, I packed my air freshener and was able to open the windows for some fresh air. There is very minimal beach decor, making it feel less like a beach home and more like an old  wooded cabin. It gave the feeling my 8 and 10 year old describe as "creepy" LOL. The house was clean, with no signs of insect issues or issues with keeping cool. The master bed was comfortable and my sons seemed to tolerate the trundle bed (even though it had a twin pull out that seemed to have NO springs or stuffing, and had not been removed from the frame to be cleaned behind. We found old underwear),I could not get them to sleep in the other rooms, which would have been possible if the decor had been uplifting and bright like a beach house and not a creepy 1970s back room of your grandparents home. The master closet is used for storing "Stuff", no extra linens, just blankets, is what I seen, because I was not digging through old boxes to find anything. Now off to the kitchen, I was not sure of the need for 3 coffee makers sitting along the counter, but appreciate the ability to use my kcups after throughly cleaning one because there was old water left in it, assuming from the last renters. The kitchen  was functional but is in major need of update to pots and pans even though there were about 5 sets that looked like they were purchased in the 70s, with silverware and drinking cups. The cabinets were messy and overloaded! There were plates and bowls that look semi new.  The kitchen did not give me an overall clean feel, so I CLEANED as if I was at home before cooking with ANYTHING!  One side of the toaster was broken, and the kitchen AC leaked when turned from the entry settings of 68 to 73, so a bowl had to be set to catch the water. The bathrooms had no decor at all. The master used to be a sliding door shower, now with a shower rod and curtain. The other bath has just an old original 4 leg bath (history listed on the wall) with no shower curtain, just a new shower like facet installed. And last, there was an issue with the front door locks and I tried just locking the front to go out the back, but the glass door was key locked from the outside, which made it a safety  concern, but we did not know until our last overnight so we did not address it. We did call about the front door lock issue and was answered by text with a new code to be used.  Other than that, there were no other issues. My disappointment is just with the esthetics of the home. It definitely does not hold the vibe of being a million dollar beachfront home as it is listed in Zillow and as the surrounding homes look. I would definitely recommend to people without children who are just wanting a place to crash, enjoy the party strip and the beach. Not fit for a romantic couples get away. I made a huge mistake not adding the trip insurance allowing a refund, I do not think I would have stayed the full time if I had the ability to be refunded for at least half of the money spent on this vacation home. Overall, it served its purpose, just not how I expected and hoped.
