The hotel has a very odd and varied level of quality in service. The front desk and restaurants staff were attentive and professional, but the concierge staff would not even look at me when answering my questions. Another one actively walked away when he saw me approach. When leaving the hotel, two staff stood across from the main door and chatted, and did not bother to help any guest. Location-wise, it's a short walk from the lake, and very close to the subway station. It's also connected to a mall with many choices of food and drinks.

Excellent Service (despite language barriers - btw:using a translator gets most things archived) . Rooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is extensive and very good. The lounge at the lobby is a great place for an afternoon tea. The 'Brewery' is a huge bar area with a wide selection of drinks & food, and a live band in the evenings (I found the volume they played at a bit too loud for my liking). Great to spend an evening before heading off for dinner (they however do have an interesting menu themselves). Step outside Brewery into the open area between the Hotel & Kerry Centre and you can hop into a few restaurants there "Thai"; "Blue Frog"; "Shake Shack" and a few more inside the Kerry Mall. The hotel is super located: A) right next to the Kerry Shopping Mall (large, upmarket mall, lots to top retail brands, large supermarket in the basement, restaurants and desert /confectionery stores within the mall). B) Night Market - 5 mins walk from hotel. Ask the concierge for directions C) West Lake: 8-10 mins walking distance from the hotel. There are rental cycles parked right outside the hotel that you could rent/ride to west lake if you choose. Stayed at hotel 17-20 Dec, 2023. Would definitely stay here again. Tip: Since Google maps works poorly in China, this location on the map is not precise. Look for AMBER BAR - on Google Maps which is nearest the actual Midtown Shangri-La hotel with the same address as the hotel (6 Changshou Rd)

Cleaning lady just ignores your do not disturb sign and charge right in to clean, would not take no for an answer either. I expect better than that from A 5 star hotel. Breakfast has wide selection, but nothing taste that good . Internet keeps quitting

Here for a conference. The room is excellently maintained and clean. I had chance to use their facilities like gym, bar, and in-room orders. The gym is enough for me as a routine gym goer. They have a beer bar downstairs with great drinks and live band. The location of the hotel is ABSOLUTELY fantastic!!!! The night market is right across a street and a shopping mall is right behind the hotel. I would definitely stay here in this hotel again. And the price is really affordable. Love it!

Excellent experience from check-in to departure. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, and everything was done to make my stay as memorable as possible. The hotel is located very centrally, close to many restaurants, shops, and of course directly next to Hangzhou's beautiful West Lake. The hotel staff was exceptional and really went the extra mile for customer service. Will definitely be back.
