What they don’t tell you is that the ‘Ocean View Corner Balcony’ rooms are right under two roof jacuzzis and the pumps are incredibly loud. Also, you are under multiple treadmills and workout bikes. Be forewarned that they do not disclose this as you book. Room #1421 and #1321 from 7am to 9pm at night are very very loud. The owner of the property should have disclosed this somewhere. It is not ethically right to up charge more for rooms that are louder than anywhere else especially when you request a quiet room. We paid $700 a night the honor of not sleeping. It was really horrible and left us upset and super tired on the most expensive night of our stay. The bed was not comfortable and once you get beyond the lobby the rooms are comparable to a Hilton. The pluses: The view is lovely. The staff is very nice. The spa was wonderful. The Schooners restaurant has amazing seafood. In the future we will stay somewhere else and visit the restaurant. For the money you can get better rooms elsewhere and not have to be worried about sleeping through the night.

Monterey Plaza Hotel is our favorite family hotel. The hotel is beautiful, location is good and the ocean view rooms have a great view. The rooms are a bit dated but are clean and the tech is updated to make it easy to cast movies or kids shows to keep them entertained. The hotel restaurant Schooners always has fantastic food, and they have good cocktails and drinks for the adults. The hotel lobby will often have music entertainment and a bar. Tidal coffee is a great spot to grab some good coffee and snacks. Overall, the hotel is hard to beat. It could use some upgrades, and the price is definitely on the higher side of Monterrey but it's our favorite hotel in the area.

Great rooms. We had the 2 queen bedroom with partial bay view. The room was clean and kept quite nicely, the interiors were aesthetic too. My only gripe was the lack of a microwave in my room. We had the mini fridge but not the microwave. The TV was also a 55" 4K TV which is really above what you usually get. The wireless charging pad was a nice touch. The view was cool, and even though it is a partial bay view, the view was really awesome.

We've stayed here several times and have always enjoyed our stay. We like the ocean view rooms with a balcony. From the balcony you can see boaters, sea otters and hear the sea lions and waves. It's a very nice hotel with a couple of restaurants and a spa on the property. The hotel is in a great location with a short walk to the stores and aquarium on Cannery Row. You have to use the valet to park your vehicle.

Totally impressed with the service and incredible attention we received during our stay. It was our first time visiting and will definitely be back. It’s a great hotel for family with kids or even a couple wanting a getaway. The views are amazing and can’t forget to mention that the food quality and taste at the restaurants onsite were incredible. Can’t wait to be back!
