This is a great Motel 6 - clean, safe, newer, no crazy people in the area. You can't beat it for the price, especially in this area. It is a Motel 6 though, so don't expect anything but the basics - you get a bar of soap, towels, an ice bucket and that's about it. There are scary motel 6's, there are dumpy motel 6's, there are old motel 6's - this one is none of those.

Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to check in early and the whole check in/out was very fast. Room was basic but comfortable. Perfectly adequate for a short, no frills stay.

Super super noisy, literally can hear everything from other rooms near you. Also very close to the freeway. 200 dollars in weekend with no shampoo and coffee machine. Go to other places if you have a choice and want to have a quiet stay

First of all, I have had two terrible stays at other Motel 6 locations in Fort Bragg and San Jose. However, this SLO location is very well managed and organized. When we checked in the new hire trainee at the front desk was very attentive and courteous as well as fast and thorough, if he needed help, he was quick to reach out to the MOD or the owner, there were a few other staff in the office and they were very helpful with travel tips and road closure info. The room itself was on the better shape of motels in this price range and the grounds were very nice and spacious and well maintained in a quiet and safe location. I would have given this motel 6 a 5 star rating if the AC Heater combo were of better quality and had been maintained better, the unit was very noisy and has no thermostat to shut it off so it runs continuously in the AC or Heat mode, making for a noisy stay. Overall a positive stay except for the usual heater AC quality issues.

A world of difference between the two motel 6 properties in San Luis Obispo. This site is clean, safe and pleasant. Staff is friendly and vigilant about keeping the property safe. Management is visible and engaging. Cleaner than the Marriot next door, shaded, with lots of greenery. Rooms are clean and well maintained and staff is quick to respond to concerns. Would recommend over the more expensive chain hotels in the vicinity. The best Motel 6 I've ever been in, and we regularly choose this location over base billeting because of the quiet peaceful location and attentive staff.
