MR Hostel

The staff was beyond excellent! Everyone was helpful, attentive and the room was very clean with ample room to store my things. I love the little cafe downstairs and most importantly I felt very safe for being a solo female traveler. No! Even the little dog was a pleasant treat upon arrival and throughout my stay!!

Only stay here if you want bed bugs, rude staff and dirt When we first got there the staff were rude and unaccommodating. We were given a double bed when we had booked and payed for two singles, there were no sheets on the bed when we arrived and the receptionist was annoyed when we asked. The doors to the rooms didn’t have any locks and the whole place didn’t feel very secure. As well as this there were no places to safely store our bags - only small lockers that were barely big enough to store valuables. The rooms themselves were small and didn’t feel clean and the bathrooms were disgusting: the staff never bothered to refill the toilet paper, there was hair and bugs everywhere, this bathroom was the nicest one there with people coming down from there floors to use this one as theirs were so much worse. Everyone we spoke to there had similar issues regarding reservations, bed bugs etc. At one point we went to plug in our charger and a fuse blew, meaning the electricity on the first two floors was gone. This created a big issue as we needed to leave in the morning and had very little charge on our phones (which had all our tickets). The receptionist did not know where the switchboard was to fix this issue and kept simply refusing to look. After we complained about this for the first time he immediately cancelled our reservations so we could not leave a review on the hostelworld page. The hostel however is located close to a metro that can take you all over in a short time, it also had a balcony and decent outside areas. The receptionist in the morning is much more accommodating and seemed much nicer than the staff at night. Overall would not recommend, we will not be coming back again.
